Nothing but good things to say about my experiences at this location. Dr. Nguyen is thorough, concerned and professional. Kelsey is great to work with always explains the tests she performs. Had to call back for a referral and Loretta was amazing. Took all my info and was genuinely concerned. Highly recommend this location!
My first visit was today, me and my son had an appointment. We got seen super quick. The staff was great and amazing. Amazing environment. I know soon they stop accepting my insurance so I'll be sad i won't be able to go here again but for my visit today, it was incredible and so thankful that I got to experience this office.
*Update to post: Leandra from MyEyeDr. patient relations called me regarding my review and took the time to listen to my issues that I had. She was the first person to generally even act like they cared about getting my business as a patient. She even offered to get me a free trial pair of my prescription contacts. Although I'm not fully convinced to want to return, she at least caused me to give 3 stars instead of 2.* I'm a disabled vet and chose to use this location for community care. Such a terrible experience. Normally, I get better care in the community than from the VA - not in this case. The VA told me my paperwork was sent to this provider. The first time I called, the front desk said they hadn't received it. I confirmed again with the VA and called MyEyeDr back. I was able to get scheduled at this point. Less than a week before my appointment, I was called by the front desk at MyEyeDr and she said she hadn't been sent the forms from the VA. When questioned, I was blamed for the mix up, even though when I called the 2nd time to get scheduled, nothing was mentioned about not having any paperwork. I called the VA again to confirm the paperwork was sent, which it was, and they said they'd send it again. I waited until the end of the day to call back to MyEyeDr and the front desk lady said they still hadn't received any fax. I asked if they could help by calling the VA to find out what's going on because I'm stuck in the middle. She would not and explained that they have a very small staff. What terrible customer service! They don't care about keeping customers here. I really wanted to see my friend's wife who is a Dr here, but all this hassle isn't worth it.
Last year I had a prescription with them and I called about a week before my prescription ran out to get a refill on my contacts. The same rude lady at the front desk told me my prescription had expired and a needed to make another appt. When asked when the expiration date was, she said it was about 5 days later and I told her I wanted a refill on my prescription. She said she would get back to me. Never heard anything - very convenient for them to just push any response until after the expiration of my contacts. Now I have none and am being forced to wear old eye glasses.
I own my own company and also have "a small staff" so that's not an excuse for me. Perhaps it's the wrong staff. I'll take my VA biz somewhere else and will be notifying the VA about the terrible service they're giving to veterans. They're no longer "MyEyeDr" and I'd recommend you not make them yours either.
My son and I have recently visited for our yearly Eye exams and the staff and Doctors are great. The front desk receptionist was very nice and polite to me and my son. Dr. Marynell did my exam and was gentle and very informative. The atmosphere is very cozy and quiet. Most importantly I was able to get new glasses for me and my son in a good amount of time. Look forward to my future appointments here.
Dr. Youngest the greatest. She really shows that she cares. The team in optical even though they were extremely busy, they still treated me very well.
I want to start off by saying that originally this would have been a 5 star review.
Dr Young is amazing and she went above and beyond. Eric the front desk manager was great, and the nurse and eyewear staff were friendly as well.
This review is specifically because of the rudeness of their front desk member Ashley.
On Friday the day after my appointment, I received a ref number to submit to the DMV and my name was entered incorrectly (not their fault, I have 4 names and issues arise from that), so it was not valid. I called them back and spoke to Eric and a friendly female staff member. They said they would have Dr. Young resubmit it but it would be Monday before she could get to it which was fine.
So I wait under 3pm on Monday and no one has called me so I reach out myself. Ashley is the only one I spoke with. From the get go she was unfriendly and tried to weasel out of helping me at every chance she could get.
First I mention the error code from the DMV saying it didn't match my ID. She immediately tried to pawn the issue off as the DMV fault saying I would have to just go there in person.
Then when I explained what I was told by her manager, I was asked to email them my ID so she could try and get off the phone with me and I had to insist that I already had. At that point I was told "well I don't have it". I had to specifically tell her, "your supervisor confirmed with me himself that he got it when I was on the phone with him on Friday".
After that she pushed to tell me that she would have to try and speak to Dr Young but it wouldn't be until tomorrow.
So after I got off the phone and wanting to avoid anymore runaround, I called the DMV myself to make sure I knew what they needed for the ref number for my exam to be correctly tied to my ID. I was told they actually had the new ref number exam and it was correct but that I had to just get it from my eye doctor.
So, I called back and got Ashley again and updated her on what I was told and that I just needed to get the ref code from them. What I was told next was what finally pushed me to write this review. She said that she didn't have it in front of her and that her manager was out sick today so she would have to follow up with him tomorrow because "If that happened, I don't have a copy of that paperwork, and I don't know where he has put it or where he has filed it until he comes in tomorrow."
I understand that it sounds like she was stressed because of a shortage of staff, but this excuse making, rude, and unsympathetic behavior is unacceptable. She never offered any consideration for the delay, she never tried to assure me that she would put any effort into inquiring about this issue, and took every opportunity to make me as a client feel like I was a burden and that she didn't have time for me.
Keep in mind I paid extra money for them to do this for me. I give them grace on the understandable error for it not being submitted with exactly what the DMV needed and even consider it as a learning opportunity for them to make sure they have the info needed to do this service. But for Ashley to go out of her way on every step to treat me this way is enough to make me refer people somewhere else unless they do some major customer service training.
I have been going to this eye doctor for several years now, and Dr. Blackwell is amazing. I like him a lot and he is the reason that I come to this office. However, this office staff is very lacking when it comes to friendliness and customer service. I called today because the office staff refused to give my eyeglasses prescription to a different provider so that I could get my glasses made at a more affordable price. They then told me that it was against HIPAA, which I know is not true, because they can give my prescription to a different provider, because I asked them to get it. Once I had spoken to three different people in the office, I was finally told by Eric that I could have them call again and he would give them the prescription. The entire office staff needs training and customer service. The girl who answered the phone Was very rude and then she hung up before the phone call ended. When I called back, the second girl was nice, and she transferred me to Eric. He used a very sarcastic tone and talked over me through the whole conversation, and would not let me speak and tell him what the problem was. He finally stopped talking long enough to find out what I needed. Once he did, he realized that I did indeed know what I was talking about and he told me to have this other facility call him directly, and he would give them the prescription. I'm glad he finally decided to help me. However, it should never have come to that and been such an ordeal to get it done. I Purchased my contact lenses there and was told it would be absolutely no problem; that I could just have another facility call them and get my prescription if I chose a different provider for my glasses. However, it was not as simple as they made it seem. I know now to never leave this office without a copy of my own prescriptions. This whole thing could've been avoided if the office staff had been a little bit more courteous, and a little less condescending on the phone.
Would love to give a (-) review if possible. I wish that I had just walked out. They first called n said that they couldn't take insurance. Then told them that we were paying cash. Was going to get both contacts n glasses. They were going to charge $150 for contact exam PLUS $99 for the eye exam. First time I've ever heard of charging for both n I've seen eye doctors all over TN, Ky, NC and SC. I could NOT believe my ears. Should have walked out then. They tried every that u could imagine to talk her out of contacts. Then we needed a reference # for the DMV. THEY EVEN CHARGED FOR THAT. THEN WAITED A FULL WEEK TO CALL AND GIVE IS THE REFERENCE NUMBER. I sure hope somebody reads this before they are put in the same situation. Please call around. There were 3 of us going to be seen but we could not have been able to afford all three to be seen there. Please all around and PRETTY PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS
