Southern Eyecare, Craig Rumple, OD

Was very pleased with my examination today. Starting off from the beginning, I really enjoyed speaking with the doctor's kind wife Michelle when I was checked in. She was pleasant and easy to talk to and also very helpful when providing information and suggestions about my plan. I found Dr Rumple to have a likeable and humorous personality and appreciated him being thorough making sure I understood my testing results. I came in for a problem issue and will be back to get glasses soon. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new eye doctor. Thanks for a great experience

Doctor Rumple is the best! I have had glasses since I was 8 months old and the appointment I had with him was by far the most thorough appointment I've ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable and even let me come into his shop on a day they were closed to let me pick up my new glasses! :)

Dr Rumple has helped my wife and I maintain our eye health for 12 years plus and has been very professional, personable and actually fun to work with. Most recently he suggested an Ophthalmologist for my wife's cateract surgery. We both value his professional opinion and my wife is in the process of cataract surgery now. My dear mother told me "son, you only get two eyes and vision is the most important sense humans have. Take care of them". We trust Craig Rumple completely and will not leave his practice. We have no qualms about recommending Dr Rumple to family, friends or anyone else. Thank you Craig and look forward to working with you in our eye future! (Personal note: I rarely to never give public referrals but this man deserves your consideration).

DON'T GO HERE! 1.) He gave TWO of my daughters the wrong RX for their glasses 2.) He suggested daily wear contacts for my 13 year old and told me they're "not that much more expensive when you factor in the cost of saline." The contacts cost 4X more. I felt lied to. 3.) He didn't have contact samples for my daughter to try so he was going to charge additional, separate visit fees for A. trying on contacts and B. teaching her how to put them in. I'd never heard of that before in my life! I've been wearing contacts for 30 years and all of those facets of the appointment are wrapped into the price of the first visit. I felt like he was nickel and diming me. 4.) I went in to get a copy of my daughter's RX, so I could order her contacts online. In front of another customer, he said condescendingly, "Oh, you're the customer who's going to order the contacts online." I asked for my daughter's records and at first he refused, even shouted at me. Then he told me I'd have to pay 6 cents a page for the photo copies. He acted arrogantly, rather than being humble, understanding, or apologetic. When he walked away, I turned to the other customer and apologized. 5.) The place was incredibly dirty and cluttered. Dr. Rumple broke my trust. I've read his responses to other 1-star reviews, telling people they're wrong or flat out calling them liars. I am incredibly disappointed by his character and his business practices. Please spare yourself and go somewhere else.

Southern Eyecare deserves 10 stars! Jessica and Doc Craig are the most thorough team I've ever worked with for my eyes. Everything, every process was thoroughly described. I highly recommend Southern Eyecare!!!

I've been a patient of Dr. Rumple for about 11 years now and I can't say enough good things about him! He's always kind, engaging, knowledgeable and informative. Several years ago, during a routine exam, he discovered a retinal tear in my right eye, and promptly sent me to a specialist who was able to repair the tear before it detached and any vision loss was suffered. He and his staff really care about their patients and I will never go anywhere else. Trust Southern Eyecare for all of your vision needs!

I rated your business so poorly because it's exactly how I felt. I wanted to help small business; don't change glasses every year but they don't have after eye exam care. If I didn't buy their glasses, they'll not fix my preexisting glasses. I've had it with their policy. Sorry Dr Rumple. Replying to Dr Rumple; you suggested I get service from where I bought my eyeglasses. I moved from Eastern NC, I don't live in a pond. I didn't lie or embellish facts.
