Optometric Physicians of Middle Tennessee - Hendersonville

I was visiting from out-of-state and in need of an urgent visit - my friend whom I'm visiting recommended OPMT. The staff were extraordinary, so helpful, kind and accommodating. They got me in immediately and were so welcoming and pleasant. Dr. D. was fantastic and really helped me understand what was going on with my eyes. It was a good experience and I was grateful. I highly recommend.

Haley Doucher was thorough for eye exam but the young gal that was there to try on glasses or get cost quotes acted like it was an inconvenience to deal with customers. More importantly, beware of their billing. They mis-billed me twice and it took me 7 calls over 3 months to get it straightened out and something sent in writing that I had a zero balance. They use the excuse that billing is a 3rd party, yet Bonnie just doesn't return calls left with their receptionists which are the only live people you can get ahold of. Very shady vibes. I will not be going back there.

Staff and doctors are all amazing! The girl at the front desk was so sweet and helpful as well as fast! The nurse doing my exam was amazing g and the Doc is so helpful and great! All around incredible experience.. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!!

Do not go here for a contact lens exam if you have Tenncare. When I called to make an appointment, I mentioned my insurance plan and was told that my visit would be covered. Upon arrival, the receptionist told me that I needed to choose between dilation and a different type of exam that wouldn't be covered. I chose dilation and made it very clear that I didn't want to do anything that wouldn't be covered. Halfway through the exam she came up to me and told me that my contact lens Exam portion wasn't something that they covered but it was too late at that point and I would have to pay $90. She admitted blame for not mentioning it on the phone or prior to beginning the exam but told me I would have to pay the full price nonetheless. After the exam was finished a different person checked me out and now the price was $150. She also admitted that I should've been told this prior, but nothing was done about the situation to make it right. I asked for a discount since the error was not mine, but I was refused one. We all make mistakes, but it's important to take accountability for them. Those who receive Tenncare must be extremely low income to qualify for it. $150 is a lot of money for me, and right before the holidays. There goes Christmas. The truth is if I had known about this out-of-pocket cost, I wouldn't have scheduled an appointment. I just can't afford it. It's such a shame because the staff was really friendly and the place itself was a warm environment. I was excited to find somewhere close to home and bring my mom in as she's due for another eye exam. I wish they would've made things right so I could continue to be a loyal customer.

They push contact brands that are the worst we've ever felt in our eyes, that they pocket the most from, until you ask for your prescription to order your preferred brand elsewhere. Then suddenly they can get your brand in. Don't even try to buy frames from the "sales lady" other reviews speak for themselves about her. Take your prescription to the online stores and save hundreds of dollars.

I've been a patient of OPMT for several years. I have seen a few different optometrists and besides the Durochers and maybe one other doctor, Dr. Brandon Smith has been the best! He listened to my concerns as well as my desires to try different types of contacts lenses and I truly appreciated this. Hope he stays around for a while.

Brittany is always amazing and helpful on the phone. The Dr is super kind, patient, and he takes time to hear and address all concerns. I feel very taken care of here.

This place is the best. The staff is amazing and super friendly. My daughter has been going here for two years now and we wouldn't go anywhere else again. The selection of eyeglasses is great. The office is beautiful. Everyone that works here is always smiling and so knowledgeable. I'm so grateful to have them for all my optometry needs.
