Dr. Craig F. McCabe, MD

We scheduled an appointment with Dr. McCabe over a month in advance -- the earliest we could get in. I explained that my mother has colon cancer and specifically asked about long wait times. I was assured that as long as we completed her paperwork, provided insurance/ID, and arrived 15 minutes early, we'd be fine. Her appointment was at 1:45, and we arrived at 1:30. At 2:45, after waiting over an hour, I asked how much longer it would be. The receptionist said "10-15 minutes" and apologized. I explained that my mother was not feeling well due to chemotherapy and radiation, but we were told again to expect another wait. After waiting an additional 20 minutes, my mother simply couldn't sit there any longer. We left without ever seeing Dr. McCabe. Extremely disappointing. If you make an appointment here, be prepared to wait hours -- even with advance scheduling and preparation.

I am very satisfied with Dr McCabe. He takes his time and explains everything. My cataract surgery was very successful.

Dr McCabe is amazing! His staff is also amazing the receptionist is so kind and sweet. Worked with me on making appointments, Dr McCabe has great bedside manners explains everything takes his time with his patients he's very kind and really listens and cares highly highly recommend Dr McCabe! One down side is the wait the wait time is pretty bad atleast 1 to 2 hours if not a little more but I can say its worth it the care you get from Dr. McCabe and his team are worth it! Highly highly recommend!

Dr Craig McCabe is a fantastic Ophthalmologist. The care he gives to me (which I'm sure he extends to his other patients) I know that he cares about my eye health and generally about my health. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great Ophthalmologist, so give him a try, I think you'll thank me!!!

Great Dr my vision in now 20/20. Highly recommend Dr McCabe for cataract surgery, lens implants, stigmatization correction.

Dr.McCabe always takes the time needed for each patient. He provides quality care and you know you are getting the best care available.

Let me just start out by saying, I have given it the weekend to make sure I have a cool head. This is my warning to everyone who is thinking of currently seeing Dr. McCabe. 1. My appointment was at 8:50a on 4/25/25 - I arrived 20 minutes early as asked. I also brought filled paperwork with me that was mailed. - Technician (I don't know actual title) came and got me at 9:05ish am. She did some quick eye measurements and dilated my eyes. - by 9:10a the technician had put me in a second waiting room, where I stayed til about 9:20am. - I was taken to an exam room where I was left until I exited the room went to the desk and spoke to who I think was a nurse at 10:45a I advised I had been in there for over an hour. I asked how much longer she thought the Dr would be. I don't want him rushing with patients but is this a I got behind kind of thing or an over schedule kind of thing. She seemed genuinely concerned when I advised my appointment was at 8:50am. 2. Dr McCabe comes in at 10:53a in what seemed like a rush. He made some comment and I advised he was very lucky he came in when he did because he had 7 minutes and I was walking. He said well let's make this appointment worth your time. Then I feel it all went down him from there. -Dr. McCabe does a brief exam of my eyes and looks over my paperwork and says you have dry eye. All of your medications cause dry eye. Does not do any testing to confirm it's dry eye. - Dr. McCabe starts telling me what the treatment is for dry eye (all while he's prepping to do said treatment) the treatment he suggests is eye plugs as he's going at me with it. I stop Dr. McCabe and told him I think I will stick with eye drops because I'm not 100% convinced that I have dry eye especially beings I only have 1 symptom of dry eye and again I will say there was NO testing done for dry eye. - Dr. McCabe seemed a little off put because he said I don't understand, your insurance covers it. Oh so you looked up what treatments my insurance covered before you ever saw me. So you knew going in that my insurance covered dry eye treatment and you were hell bend on treating me for dry eyes. I feel like you are up charging service to insurances for patients who don't even need that service. 3. My appointment was at 8:50am I did not leave until 11:30. Almost 3 hours and I saw the Dr for Maybe 10 minutes of that. I won't go back. WORST EXPERIENCE ever!!

I would like to thank Dr McCabe for taking such good care of me for the past 20+ years. I trust his knowledge and expertise in the care of my eyesight. He spends quality time with me and answers all my questions. If you're looking for quality eye care I highly recommend Dr Craig McCabe.
