Tarr Eye & Vision Center - Blake Tarr OD

Our son had an emergency situation with his eye on a Saturday after getting cut in his eye during a basketball game. Dr. Tarr met us at his office and was able to help our son even though it was the weekend. We were so grateful he was willing to meet us on his day off and take care of our son. We definitely recommend him to anyone with emergencies and will be following up with regular appointments for our four children. Thank you, Dr. Tarr!

New and now former patient here, My wife was charged $949 for two eye exams and two contact fittings for herself and our child. No products/contacts, no glasses/lenses and this price is AFTER insurance was billed $400, and medical insurance $60. So roughly $1,400 in charges for 2 eye exams/fittings. Prices are 3-5x more expensive than other local optometrists and big chains alike. Red Flags 1.Pricing is not discussed up front, but they will lie and say that it is/was. 2.They ask you to do special tests that aren't covered by insurance and then don't disclose results. 3.They prescribe contacts that you haven't worn before even if the wearer explicitly asks to remain in the lenses you've worn for 15 years. 4. They perform and charge for tests that you didn't authorize. 5. They quoted daily lenses for $1280 that can be purchased online for $700. All of this is done to extract as much money from you as possible to increase their bottom line. TLDR; Run, don't walk away.

I switched to Tarr because it was the closest to my home. Knowing what I know now, I would have switched doctors years ago. The entire staff is very pleasant to deal with. The equipment and procedures seem top of the line. Blake makes it a point to create a relationship, not just a customer. I am very pleased with the services I have received. On top of my routine exams, he recently worked with me to get a Lasik consultation and surgery. He and his staff are extremely professional and knowledgeable. I have zero complaints so far.

We have been going to Dr. Tarr for over 2 years. He is knowledgeable, and his eye exams are very thorough. He is great with children! His staff is helpful. We are able to get appointments quickly. We are thankful for his expertise!

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Blake Tarr, Optometrist since 2014. He has given us excellent care. He is very thorough in the eye exams, and other imaging. He is very personable but highly competent. His staff are very friendly and helpful. The office interior is very nice and there is a wide assortment of frames to select from. We have highly recommended him to others. I would rate him a 5 out of 5 stars!

Dr. Tarr and his staff are very professional and friendly. They treat you like family. They go out of their way to explain anything you need in a very understandable way. Dr. Tarr take the time to be very thorough and makes sure any questions you have are answered. They also have very competitive prices on frames and lenses. I feel so comfortable with them I have recommended them to members of my family and friends.

This place is a joke. They charged me $1000 besides my ins. If you need glasses the price starts out wirh all the add ons, first,then you have to tell them to take this off, take that off,and still overpriced. I told them I didn't want the bifocal lens,but of course when they came back it was on them. So I tried them out for a week and knowing I didn't want it on there in the first place,I took them back told them to replace the lens without the bifocals and they did after disagreeing with me.They just messed them up worse,because when I got them back they still weren't right.The lenses made everything look hazy now. Also the prescription sunglasses only lasted less than a year before the tint started wearing off them. Because of this place my vision is now worse. I now see why only older people go here. They get screwed and don't realize it.I'll just take it as a lesson learned and out $1000 plus.

I been a patient now for over three years. I am very pleased with the service and attention to detail that Dr Tarr and his staff give to me. I have the CRT lenses and the program is fantastic!
