I'm a new patient as of today, January 22nd. I was very pleased with the complete visit. I'm so happy to be a part of the Martin Eyecare Family.
My daughter left Dr Martin two years ago because they could never get a prescription right to correct her vision. She has since found Optometrist that has given her a great prescription. I should have taken note ---. After cataract surgery and 3 years of Dr Martin telling me nothing could be done about my floaters, focus, and shadows in my eyes; I went to an Opthamologist who plans corrective surgery for scar tissue and a testing for glaucoma. You would have thought she would have recommended a medical doctor. I do not recommend Dr. Martin.
I don't do online reviews as a rule, but I'm leaving this one, just because I see a number of one-star reviews, and I feel compelled to offer a different view. With that in mind, pardon me if I ramble a bit - I write for a living. (Which also means that I NEED my eyes to work right.) But even if it's a long read, I promise to include specifics that may be useful.
I've been seeing Dr. Martin for over 10 years at this point, dating back to her previous (smaller) location. Not only is she fantastic in her work, but she'll engage in actual common-sense dialogue that I've never had from other eye professionals. Pros and cons of switching to bifocals if you're on the edge of needing them? Easing back on the distance prescription just a touch to make reading easier? She'll engage with you on various points to ensure that you get the best prescription FOR YOU rather than just churning out the rote textbook answer. Likewise, she'll talk openly with you about habits that can cause eye issues down the road, even if you don't have those issues quite yet. With me, it was smoking, and reading in natural light (usually dim). And, a big one - you don't have to ask these unfamiliar and tough questions. She'll bring them up herself.
The facility is top-notch. Be sure to spring for the 3D imaging option (even though insurance doesn't usually cover it, it's cheap) to avoid those annoying eye drops, particularly if you're driving afterwards. (The imaging is also much more accurate than a visual inspection by an optometrist after the drops, but for me that's almost a side benefit.) If you're buying glasses there, they have quite the selection, and the staff who works with you on fitting is top-notch. With that said, you're pretty much paying list price for glasses, and frames with add-ons for the lenses can add up fast, even if you have good insurance. The price is normal for contacts (meaning, a lot cheaper than glasses for the year).
Also, a rarity for any subset of the medical field - I've never been called back more than 5 minutes after a scheduled appointment. And they don't just move you to a room and make you wait another 20 minutes - you're starting the exam immediately.
The staff is universally friendly and very competent.
So, after 10+ years, and the fact that I generally don't bother leaving reviews, Dr. Martin has earned a review from me, as well as a 5-star rating. I cannot speak to the other optometrist(s?) on site, but Dr. Martin has always been superb - I never considered looking elsewhere (until a recent move, and a 3-hour drive is a bit much for an eye exam).
I have been going to Dr. Martin for years and she is always professional and efficient. I get tested every other year for glaucoma and Dr. Martin does a great job of keeping an eye on it. I will continue to go here for years to come!
Beautiful practice with modern technology and wonderful service! Best glasses I've ever gotten. Would recommend this practice to everyone I know! Staff was very professional and pleasant. Will be coming back for years to come!
My wife called Dr Martin's office today to get a new pair of lenses. She was told they were about to close for the day, but could squeeze in her. My wife promptly left for the 5 minute drive to Dr Martin's office, but they would not let her in. Very unprofessional.
Great staff! Overall Great experience. Dr. Martin has been wonderful! She pays attention to detail and is open to any question you have concerning the health of your eyes.
Lisa and her staff are warmly professional. They take their time with you and never make you feel rushed. I would recommend her service to anyone needing eye care.
