I did not have an eye doctor since moving to Austin and I happen to find this place through my insurance and thank god! Excellent service, was brought back at my apt time. No wait time for tests and for the Doctor to see me. Very polite and helpful staff. All around great experience.

I have been a patient at Austin Vision Center for over forty years. I have never experienced anything other than courteous, prompt, informed service, both from the staff at the front desk and the spectacle specialists who work behind them. As for the Optometrists, first the now-retired Dr. Mark Hutson and his excellent successor Dr. Pham, they are brilliant. Dr Hutson may have saved my husband's life by noticing during a routine check that the artery that runs through the eye was "stiff": turned out that he had serious plaque build up, and needed immediate medication. Dr Pham has been supportive, patient, and attentive throughout my less-than-satisfactory experience with cataract surgery at another practice. I trust his judgment. During my last visit (today) he spent almost two hours testing and retesting my sight, and counselling on next steps. And he never makes me feel old and stupid. (I am indubitably old but definitely not stupid.) Thanks to everyone at this practice.

I've been a patient of Austin Vision Center (AVC) for decades and have purchased that number, likely more, pair of glasses from them. Even though I now live near Lake Travis, I know it's worth the drive. They know me so well! After selecting a frame during my visit yesterday, Deanna excitedly said"... I KNEW YOU WOULD"! (They're a new Lindbergh CATEYE) frane.
I noticed that my vision felt slightly off but it was earlier than the annual insurance covered visit. I was ok with paying out of pocket. So imagine my surprise that the Doctor (he's great!) only charged 1/4th of the price I was quoted!!

My first visit as a new patient was an extremely pleasant experience. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The Dr was thorough and went at my pace to explain the findings and plan of action. They were transparent about cost and options. The office was very clean and inviting. So came in with concerns about my blurry vision and how it gets worse at night. He basically told I'm getting old so wear readers?? He mentioned oh your insurance, which doesn't matter because I can pay cash. Very confusing how his machine said I need corrective treatment but he says otherwise. I'm definitely going to another DR for second opinion and who actually cares and takes me seriously.
