Dell Laser Consultants - Austin Location

I had cataract surgery on my right eye at Dell Laser. I went back on 1/12/2026. I thought I needed glasses but the very pleasant Dr Divya Varu saw me and said I had very dry eyes. She prescribed two eye Drops and a day later I feel so much better and my eyes already see better and my vision doesn't fluctuate all the time. I really appreciate how much time she took with me and she is always this nice!

Drs. Varu and Nguyen are EXCELLENT! They care about their patients. They are personable and take time to answer questions. I've been a patient of Dr. Varu for four years and value her professionalism and knowledge. We discussed that the best option with my eye issues and cataracts is Light Adjustable Lenses. She performed the surgery. Dr. Nguyen adjusted the lenses after surgery and is AMAZING! She took extra time to make sure that I got optimal vision - both distance and close. I'm very happy that I no longer need glasses again (I had PRK over 20 years ago). Yes, it's a long process, but worth it! I highly recommend the practice.

The staff at Dell Laser Consultants are incredibly warm, friendly and caring. Dr. Varu is very knowledgeable, skilled and professional. She answered all of my questions and explained everything clearly. I felt completely cared for from start to finish. My post-op care with Optometrist, Dr Cunningham was excellent. It's been over seven years since my last visit due to work relocation, and I'm so glad to be back with Dell Laser Consultants. Out of all the places I've been, they remain my favorite! The team is highly skilled, and I was fortunate to see Dr. Cunningham for my recent eye health concerns -- I highly recommend them. I also love the layout of the waiting area -- it's beautiful, relaxing, and so comfortable. It doesn't feel like a hospital at all; the lighting and atmosphere make it a truly pleasant experience every time I visit.

Staff was very nice and always accommodating! Dr Campagna is great! I can see so good with both eyes. He did awesome job selecting my upgraded lenses!! VERY PLEASED!! Hate that he is leaving Austin! Also saw Dr Gomez after surgery and she was great as well!

It has been about 7 months since my SMILE surgery at Dell Laser Consultants that eliminated my myopia (nearsightedness). If I recall correctly, the doctor that performed the SMILE procedure on my eyes was Dr. Dell himself. 7 months out from that surgery, and I'm still glasses-free! He corrected my vision to 20/15! People have this extreme worry that they might become part of the extremely unlucky statistic of people who have serious complications with LASIK (and SMILE, by proxy) that lead to permanent blindness or something equally severe. I had that same fear, but if you were at risk for complications, the doctors on staff would tell you ahead of time during your consultations and not move you forward, if that is any consolation. The actual procedure lasted only about 1 minute per eye--with you lying flat on a special medical table as a device was pressed against your face and eyes--and was completely painless. If you're claustrophobic or prone to panic attacks, they give you some antidepressants just beforehand to calm your nerves down. Post-operation recovery consists of a lot of antibiotic eyedrops alongside generic OTC eyedrops to keep the eyes moisturized. You'll need to take some time off for this and be an indoor shut-in for a while, so get things prepared ahead of time and learn to become best friends with your bed pillows. The only permanent con from this procedure is you won't be able to go outside without sunglasses ever again during daytime. Daylight to your new eyes will be far more luminous, bringing significant discomfort without protection. And glare from bright car headlights will be magnified slightly, so driving at night could be dangerous, depending. Still, despite that con, this surgery was, unquestionably, the best medical decision I made in my life for quality of life. I thank Dr. Dell and his team for it all. I highly recommend them for anyone considering SMILE surgery.
