I had refractive lens surgery done by Dr Vendal. I am one week out from my second eye surgery and couldn't be happier. She is highly skilled, professional and an excellent surgeon. Dr V performed cataract surgery on my mother about 15 years ago and she is still able to see without glasses and remains extremely satisfied with her results. I highly recommend Dr Vendal!

I saw Dr. Vendal in mid-April for cataract evaluation. I spent more time with the technicians than I did with the doctor which I now understand can be average in this environment. However, Dr. Vendal was not interested in answering my questions, felt that since she had performed the laser surgery on her father it was the best and exactly what I needed. In my quest for answers Dr. Vendal indicated that the scheduling professional would review everything with me. I felt rushed by the doctor and pressured to choose laser surgery which is an additional $3,000 PER EYE. Ultimately, I went for a second opinion at Wong Eye Center at UT Austin and found plenty of information to make a comfortable decision. Laser surgery is not necessary for the average old age cataract and can cause complications in and of itself as well as a financial burden to a great many patients. If you are not 100% comfortable with the plan set forth for your cataract surgery, be sure to get a second opinion Medicare and most health insurance companies cover second opinions.
