Sam's Club Optical Center

I went in with two prescriptions for contact for my kids and zero idea what to expect or what I was doing. Vesna was just phenomenal at helping me understand the process and taking the time to answer all my questions. I never felt rushed and when she could tell something was going over my head she proactively walked me through it again until it was clear that I understood. She could not have been more pleasant and kind. Hold on to this one Sam's! She is truly exceptional at her job.

Brought my 11 year old here for an exam and to be fitted for her first contacts. The optometrist and the woman at checkin/out were really really nice and professional. They were upfront about pricing and let me know about the optional tests that they offer. I don't recall that happening at the other places we have gone. I appreciated their honesty!! The exam was very thorough and the optometrist has the best demeanor. He was very nice! The woman who checked us in also helped my daughter with putting in her contacts. She was so sweet and made my daughter feel at ease with the whole process. She was able to put them in and take them out in about 10 minutes. I don't wear contacts so I wasn't sure how to help her. I'm so glad we came here!! She loves her new contacts! The people working at the glasses place next door were equally helpful and friendly. All in all this was the best place we have been and will definitely come here from now on.

They made copies of my insurance card to see how much the exam would be. Told me they would call back later and let me know. I called a week later and the lady at the front desk has no idea what I'm talking about and has difficulty communicating over the phone. They also seem very unorganized when I went inside. Papers all over the desk area and chatting with customers on the phone and in person at the same time.

The Sam's Club optical department is not well run! I spend a lot of time waiting while staff chatted and wandered around. My glasses were not well made. The lenses were replaced once and even then I was not pleased and I don't use them, but since I was told that my insurance covered 100% along with my Plus Member discount I paid nothing. Then three months later I received a bill for $90.00. In this day and age, it is standard to check the insurance online and know what the payment will be. If I had known that I was paying for glasses that aren't right I would have returned them right away! DO NOT USE SAM'S CLUB OPTICAL!

Me and my partner called ahead to make an appointment, they were able to fit us in the same day at 4pm. We accepted and rushed over. We got there at 3:55, waited and waited. At 4:45, we both did our, "pre test," where they had us fit our faces into small machines (chin in slot, forehead against piece of plastic) and they DID NOT CLEAN THE MACHINES BETWEEN EACH PERSON. I know because the door to the room was open for everyone to see, and I saw them not do anything between each usage, I even saw someone go in after me; no one sanitized the surfaces in between. *These kinds of cleaning practices were in place before covid so I'm definitely confused at this point* Honestly, both the receptionist and the the eye doctor were so unprofessional I didn't feel comfortable having my eyes checked by her. The receptionist interrupted my partners eye exam to ask a question regarding a different patients eye insurance (the second patient she had trouble with their insurance.. I was in the waiting room watching the receptionist struggle..) The eye doctor responded telling the receptionist to get out and saying she was with a patient. Now it is almost 5 o'clock, I haven't been seen yet (when they previously said they could squeeze us in at 4?) And the eye doctor is doing receptionist work when my partner is done, saying that the printer is broken and that she cannot print out my partners eye prescription because the printer is out of toner...wow...okay.... So the eye doctor proceeds to tell us both she needs to see other patients, but she will do that quickly, then go get toner for the printer, then print out my partners eye prescription and then see me next. I said, no. Can you just write out the prescription? She was caught off guard and said the prescription has to be written on a specific piece of paper, by law, then writes it down and says she can see me soon. I said no thanks. She was obviously offended and said that if I can have more patience then she can see me and explained that she is still training her receptionist. But I had already been patient for an hour watching the circus that is their doctor's office. That's fine, but they said they could see us at 4, it's already and hour later and I honestly had zero confidence in that doctor or receptionist being able to handle anything regarding my eye sight. They gave my partner his prescription and we got out of there. As we're leaving, the eye doctor suggests I call ahead next time and try to make an appointment, so that they will have more time to see me, I said thanks and walked away. Long read, I'm sorry, but by far the WORST EYE DR appointment I have ever had. And I will not be back ever STAY AWAY. For you own safety. Will update and pray that my partnes eye prescription is solid.
