My son has been at The Center for Vision Development for over a year now. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with everyone who works here and how genuine they are in their mission to help. Dr. Brown has been so kind and thorough with my son and very focused on improving not only his vision, but also his quality of life. My son's nine vision diagnoses create several challenges throughout his daily activities that otherwise would not be so difficult. Throughout his time here, the incredible vision therapists have worked to help him improve his reading, writing, listening skills, body control and his confidence, as well as significantly decreased the frustration he used to feel every day. The office has so many unique tools and cutting edge technology to assist vision improvement as well as the kindest, most helpful therapists and staff who are excellent with children and sincerely care about each patient. I admit, I was skeptical when our original eye doctor first suggested vision therapy, but I cannot believe the marked difference between his vision, his academic abilities, and his overall behavior today as compared to before he started at the Center for Vision Development. I am a very grateful Mom.
CVD has been a great blessing to our family; vision therapy has helped my child significantly. We have been clients just over a year. Child started Summer entering 3rd grade and we have seen great progress. Reading skills and handwriting has improved a lot. Coordination, reaction time, depth perception and peripheral vision have improved and can see that in sports such as basketball and baseball. We recently had a baseball hit to the head wearing a helmet. If he did not react intime, the ball could have hit him on another part of his body which would have cause injury. Overall, my child is more confident in his learning and sports skills. We attribute all his improvement in the areas above to the Vision Therapy bu The Center for Vision Development.
Staff: We have had contact with every staff member at CVD. Each one is always happy and cheerful when you see them. We have had such a welcoming experience. -- It's like this EVERYTIME, not just every once in a while. Unlike other medical officers we have been to where you can hear staff gossip or act unprofessional. Walking into CVD 99% of the time, Ed will be there to greet you and your child by first name. Ed is always professional, helpful and committed to providing customer's great service. Therapists are some of the most cheerful, knowledgeable and committed. We have had therapy with Annie, Mitzi, Josh and Sophie because of my work schedule changing. Each therapist knows how to speak to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
Our current therapist, Sophie is supportive and compassionate. The constructive feedback after each session shows she cares. Sophie is knowledgeable and skilled in her abilities as a therapist. She is always encouraging and engaging with my child which helps his confidence and ability to complete the hard task at hand. Our overall experience with Sophie has been VERY positive. My son looks forward to every session and leaves with a smile. When Sophie is giving me the feedback after each session, she is thorough in explaining and attentive when I ask questions.
Dr. Browne is approachable, skilled and very friendly. Dr. Browne will spend time with me when discussing results or progression made. She listens to my concerns and helps formulate a plan to help my child improve through certain therapeutic exercises. Dr. Browne is professional and compassionate. Her compassion comes out when she shows her excitement in improvement after each progress check.
Appointment Availability: Hours of operation are great for working families as they offer appointments after 5pm. Moving your appointment around is also easy to do, just contact staff and they will be glad to help.
Communicaiton: Sometimes it's hard to make a phone call to the office but texting is an option. I love this about CVD because they respond quick when I have to reschedule an appointment or need to schedule an appointment.
Overall: I'm sure there is something CVD can improve on, but nothing comes to mind. CVD has created a clean, comfortable, safe and positive environment for families and clients.
My son with strabismus has been going to The Center for Vision Development since he was three years old. He has made a ton of progress over the last year; he is no longer running into things, and his eye teaming is much improved. The entire staff is incredibly pleasant, and my son loves his therapists. My son looks forward to going to therapy multiple times a week and often asks me if we can go on days he isn't even scheduled! Highly recommended.
I can't say enough good things about my experience at The Center for Vision Development. When I first started, my treatment plan was estimated at 100 sessions, but thanks to consistent homework and rarely missing appointments, I graduated in just 52 sessions over the course of one year. My issue was fully resolved, and I truly feel like I got my life back.
Every single person here made the journey not just effective, but genuinely uplifting. Dr. Browne was incredibly thorough during my exams, always making sure we were targeting the right tasks at the right time. Sophie guided me through nearly all of my sessions with kindness, patience, and a sense of friendship that made each visit something to look forward to. Annie was always cheerful and flexible, helping me rearrange my schedule when needed without a hitch. And Ed--he's the heart of the place. His warm smile and welcoming energy made every arrival feel like coming home.
I also want to thank Josh and Mitzi. Even though I didn't work with them as often, every visit with them was excellent. Their professionalism and warmth were just as memorable and appreciated.
This team is the real deal. They listened to me, supported me, and tailored everything to fit my needs. I'm beyond grateful for their expertise and compassion. If you're considering vision therapy, this is the place to go.
We found this clinic through a recommendation from our pediatric optometrists. My daughter loves going to her appointments and we have seen her confidence grow when it comes to reading. Thankful the team is professional and wonderful with children! Sophie has strong communication skills and I appreciate her investment in my daughter's progress.
CVD and all of the staff are amazing! I have worked with all of the vision therapists, and they are so kind and passionate about helping each patient reach their goals. Vision therapy is a great way to address the root causes of eye conditions in a non-invasive and often more effective way than surgery. Would totally recommend CVD!
We have been with CVD for about 3 years now. My daughter has multiple visual diagnoses, the most obvious being intermittent strabismus. She has come do far since she began and has gained awareness and control of her eye movements allowing her to keep them aligned. We recently acheived gaining depth perception (3D vision) which is a HUGE life changing milestone for her so we are very pleased about that!
Dr. Smith and Dr. Browne have been tremendous every step of the way. We have had experiences with all of the vision therapists and they are all wonderful and so kind. My daughter has always enjoyed her time spent working with everyone.
A sincere thank you for all you do and have done for us!

If you get migraines, talk to them about light therapy. I've had one migraine in over a 6 month period! I was having them every weekend. It's worth at least calling them to get more information.
I was so sick a year ago and I was just accepting that my life was just like that. It's not. I'm hosting 2 events and attending 4 parties in the next 2 weeks. Last year I was in bed exhausted every day. Call them! They're nice people and if there's a chance they can help you, it's worth the call.
