Dr. Horton is awesome! She was my second opinion because the first guy I went to in Brenham was a joke. She was a little late getting to me but probably because she spends so much time with her patients making sure they understand what's happening with their eyes and patiently answering all of their questions. I would definitely go back and not hesitate to recommend her to anyone. Gayle at the front desk is a bit curt, but once I realized all she is doing up there by herself, I was more understanding of her shortness with me so be patient with her. Overall, I would highly recommend this place, especially if you are looking for answers to questions about your eyes that other doctors don't take the time for.

Dr. Horton treated my aunt with such great care and dignity during a very frightening situation. She immediately helped her relax, asked thoughtful questions, and listened carefully. My aunt was seen as a walk-in with an urgent eye hemorrhage (left vitreous hemorrhage and right subretinal hemorrhage), and Dr. Horton made sure she was examined thoroughly without delay. I was very impressed with the time she took during the exam and the calm, professional way she reassured my aunt. She not only addressed the urgent issue but also arranged an appointment with a retinal specialist to ensure follow-up care. Her kindness, expertise, and genuine concern truly stood out, and I highly recommend her to anyone needing an attentive and compassionate physician.

Had a great experience with Dr. Horton. Enjoyed watching her work. Both kids can see great!! Enjoyed seeing her archaic lens case and the old school glasses. Neat experience!

Dr Horton is very professional, through and compassinate person. She has been my Dr for many years. She never rushes and answers all of my questions. I would recommend her for your eye care needs.

It's rare to find such highly qualified medical care in a small town. Dr. Horton has been seeing our family for years. She spends quality time with each patient, and treats every person with respect- this does equate to long wait times, but completely worth it. She's cash only, which keeps her affordable for patients. She equips her patients with understanding of the problems and preventative care and has always been spot on her diagnoses with us. Highly recommend!

I came in to see Dr. Horton because I had a foreign object in my eye. Turns out it was a microscopic piece of metal. She got it out within 10 minutes pain free. Also, when I called, they got me in right away. Best eye doctor in Brenham hands down, and I've been to at least 3 others in the past several years. I won't be going anywhere else for my vision needs.

Dr Horton is the best opthalmologist I've ever been to. She has been my Doctor for many years. She's very kind and is an exceptional Doctor. Her staff is very helpful. I recommend her to everyone that needs an eye doctor.

My eye had been itching/watering for 8 weeks - I thought it was allergies. Then on a Wednesday, it began to be painful....Thursday it was even worse. Never having been to an ophthalmologist in Brehnam, I googled for a doctor here. Dr. Cheryl Horton. I called late in the afternoon (Thurs) and she couldn't see me until the next morning, (when she would work me into her already full schedule.) Her office was unimpressive but, neat and clean. Then, I met her. She is an amazing person. As someone wrote earlier, "old school." To me that means that she truly cares about her patients; takes as much time as necessary to not only examine but explain to them the entire situation. Before leaving, she GAVE ME HER CELL PHONE NUMBER and told me to call over the weekend if anything worsened ! The regimen she prescribed began to work almost immediately but, the symptoms were erratic; better in the morning; worse in the afternoon, etc. Overall it's better. She asked me to call this morning to "let her know" how I'm doing. Really? - Just an old school doctor - The world would be a better place if ALL doctors worked as she does. I HIGHLY recommend her.
