RGV Eye Institute - BROWNSVILLE

I am a new patient and I Love this place. Dr. Zarate is a great doctor and the staff is wonderful. My prescription had changed and I couldn't see well with my glasses anymore. Had to leave out of town and needed something so I could see clearly. This is the first time ever I have been able to see so clearly with contacts. The Dr. took his time to find the best contacts for me. Will definitely return and recommend to others. Thank you everyone for a great experience.

Dr. Barr is amazing she explains everything from the actual exam to the options of treatment. She is very friendly. The entire office was welcoming and friendly and they take their COVID precautions seriously. I felt very comfortable from start to finish. Thank you for everything.

Horrid experience. I recommend buying a vault and keeping your prescription in it because if you misplace it like I did you will never get a copy from them. I understand its one year old but they have records of the visit and we're patients there so I can not understand the refusal of printing a sheet of paper for my records at home?. The looks I got from the two receptionists there was ridiculous. The snark radiating from their faces was enough for my husband to move the entire family to a different eye doctor. Be weary of canceling your appointment, we called to cancel an appointment and were berated in front of another patient on a different visit about being a no show, when we had 100% phoned in to cancel. It was embarrassing. Dr. Barr had the place in good shape but it's very unprofessional with Dr. Zarate and his crew now. Go somewhere else and save yourself the headache.

Both the technician and the doctor were great! Dr. Zarate took his time, answered my questions, and walked me through the pictures of the inside of my eye. It's nice not to get dilated and have that option available and very cool to see my own blood vessels and nerves. I didn't know you could literally see diabetes and high blood pressure just by looking at a photo. Great service will return.

Excellent service! The staff there are very friendly and helpful. The eye doctor was very kind and knowledgeable. He took his time to answer any questions I had. My experience there was very pleasant. I would definitely recommend it!

First time I went there, Staff was very Professional and showed care for the patients. Doctor explained everything thoroughly and I left the clinic satisfied with a little more knowledge on the reason of my visit. Highly recommend to other individuals.

The staff and Dr Keila were awesome!! Very friendly and professional! Informative and very patient answering all my questions! Took their time to make sure I was completely satisfied with the service!! Will definitely be going back again next year!!
