I've been a patient of Dr. Neel for almost 10 years. He is very personable and patient. He is great at explaining the patient's condition and treatment options in a way anyone can understand.
He has an amazing assistant/office manager who makes everyone feel welcome.
Plan accordingly for your visit. It will take some time to complete required testing and screenings before seeing the doctor. This may require a longer than expected wait in the waiting area at no fault of the staff.

Dr. Neel and his staff have held my glaucoma in check for the past 8 years. My ophthalmologist had been treating my glaucoma for many years before my eye pressures increased dramatically. She ONLY recommended that I see Dr. Neel. He performed several surgeries on my eyes and I am forever grateful that he immediately scheduled me for these procedures. He has a busy office but I consider that a recommendation to his skill as a surgeon and specialist. He is the Best glaucoma specialist in DFW.

If you need an excellent Glaucoma doctor, this is the place. I use Dr. Azra Idrizovich, and have been for at least 8 years. My glaucoma has not progressed over that time. She has carefully monitored my condition, and during that time has removed cataracts from both eyes, while implanting a shunt in one eye and widening my natural drain area in the other eye. Both she and her office staff are efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. If I have questions or need a refill, they always return my call the same day. I have every confidence in this practice and highly recommend them. By the way, I have to drive to the Dallas location from Waco, approximately 100 miles one way. If there is a lengthy traffic delay, they work with me by adjusting my appointment time and seeing me even if I'm late. Believe me, it's worth every mile to be a patient here.

I visited here for the first time today (Feb 6, 2024) and I'm happy to report that I had a great experience. I loved the fact that I was able to complete all the forms ahead of time on the website and then simply print them out and bring them in with me, rather than try to fill them out by hand in the waiting room. The website itself is terrific, and well worth exploring. I found it very easy to use. In addition to providing all of the forms, the website provides a lot of excellent information about glaucoma and glaucoma treatments. In the office and on the phone, everyone with whom I had contact was friendly and helpful. I did not have a long wait time, either. I saw Dr. Davanian, and I liked him immediately, because he took the time to answer my questions and discuss my treatment options. I highly recommend the Glaucoma Center of Texas.

Absolutely horrible experience. They over book constantly like a poorly managed airline. It's not uncommon to wait two or more hours to see the doctor because of over booking. The Dr. Idrizovich is constantly running behind,and they have the audacity to tell you if you're late they will cancel your appointment and charge you for it. I work in Healthcare, I get sometimes you have to prioritize the more critical patients. That is NOT the case here. It is absolutely poorly managed to shove as many numbers in, at the expense of making the patient wait. Horrible horrible way to prioritize patient care. Save yourself some time and find a different group/specialist if you can.
