Very disappointed in KeyWhitman N. Arlington. The Dr. came across as being short and in a hurry to leave exam room when I had questions. Three times she stated I need to go I said I still have questions.
Today on the follow up and measuring of eyes it didn't go well either. Original nurse or tech started to measure eyes and stated we need to put drops in your eyes to get a better view. This will take about 7 minutes, ok. After at least 20 minutes a different person comes in and states I'm taking over for the previous person since there with another patient, really. My wife who is an RN states that isn't that very unprofessional which I felt also wasn't good. After a few words back and forth the Nurse says just a moment and leaves the room. At this point I decided this is not the practice I want to use for my surgery. We left and then received a call from the office manger stating that I wanted to talk with her. I stated no I never asked to talk with her. While talking with the office manger I stated that the previous person said original Nurse or tech was with another patient, she said no she was doing some paperwork. Now I have two different statements why the original person didn't come back to finish measuring eyes. Overall very disappointed with this location.
The front staff were very nice. Dr Lee is awesome. The procedure went well and quick. The nurses were very nice and helpful. I was disappointed in how quickly I was released after the surgery. I was a little woozy. I would have liked to have had a little more recovery time before being released. I would have also liked a reminder of the after surgery care.I don't know if it was due to the appointment being right before the holidays or not. I will be coming back for my other eye and I will know what to expect next time.
The first visit, for my cataract procedures, with tech left me with questions. The tech answered my concerns by a couple of phone calls prior to first procedure. The meeting with doctors and anesthesiologist before procedure was positive and reassuring. All of the clinical areas were super clean and cold temperature in all areas seemed uninviting for germs.
After the procedure I noticed a major difference in the clarity of what I could see.
The second procedure went even better because I knew what to expect; even though procedure used different and more technical techniques. Seemed very cutting edge.
After each procedure I SAW COLORS better than I had seen for probably 30 years. Reading and driving were also less blurry and increased my feelings of freedom.
Wish I had done this years ago...especially worth while and great value. Getting better each day.
Thank you to Dr. Whitman, Dr. Agnew, Dr. Fish and all staff.
Brandon at Key-Whitman is absolutely wonderful. He works alongside Dr. Hoelscher and brings not only strong professionalism, but an amazing personality and calming demeanor to every visit. He is kind, patient, and reassuring, and he takes the time to explain each step and answer questions in a way that truly puts you at ease. His positive attitude and supportive presence made a stressful process feel manageable, and he clearly cares about the people he works with. He is a tremendous asset to the team. I just love him!
In March, I found out I had a mass behind my eye. After getting news like that, I wanted to be seen as soon as possible, so I traveled from Fort Worth to Dallas to see Dr. Leslie Pfeiffer because of the great things I had heard about her.
The process was very stressful and overwhelming, and at times I felt like my anxiety was more of an inconvenience than something that was understood. Despite that, I continued care with her because of her reputation.
We scheduled surgery for September, but I had to postpone it until January due to financial reasons. About 2 weeks before the January 28th surgery date, I was given the final cost, which was much higher than what I had previously been told. This caused a lot of stress. I contacted the surgery center and the doctor's office to ask if there was any way to work out a smaller down payment or a better payment plan, because I truly wanted to move forward with the biopsy. Unfortunately, no options were offered, and I was expected to pay $3,000 on the day of surgery, with the rest due within six months.
Before canceling, I asked if I could speak with Dr. Pfeiffer directly, but that wasn't possible.
On February 12, I received a letter stating that she would no longer see me because of the cancellation. The letter also listed three canceled dates, which is incorrect. This was very disappointing, especially after completing all required tests, scans, and appointments, including a recent CT scan.
I understand that surgeries are expensive and that scheduling takes resources, but receiving the final cost only two weeks before the procedure was incredibly difficult. I just wish there had been more empathy or flexibility, especially since I was willing to move forward if a better payment plan had been offered.
I'm sharing this simply to describe my experience.
Every staff member I've had interaction with has been wonderful!! They are polite, and helpful in every way. They are professional as well as personable. This is an amazing facility, I was treated as though I was family!! I highly recommend Key-Whitman Eye Center for any eye issues.
I cannot say enough good things about my experience in the Dallas N central office. Jenny, Brandon and Paul were amazing performing my exam. They worked tirelessly getting the best results for me. They performed very professionally while remaining friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and concerns. I never felt they were rushing to complete the exam. I highly recommend this clinic.
Had an eye exam July 2025 at the Rockwall location and received my new eyeglass prescription. Due to budget constraints I had to wait until January 2026 to order new eyeglasses. I could not focus clearly with my new glasses- not so much the clarity but the progressive lenses were wonky and I couldn't find any spot on the lens by moving my head up and down to focus clearly. The optical store moved my progression lines a bit and ordered new lenses. They were even worse than the other ones. They suggested I get a new eye exam. I went to my old optician who examined my eyes and gave me a new prescription at a cost to me of $125.00. The prescription was totally different from the Key Whitman one with the sphere, cylinder, axis and add ALL different. I went back to the Optical store and they made new lenses that I can see perfectly out of. I went to the Rockwall Key Whitman with the 2 prescriptions and discussed with the front desk and they were sympathetic and said that the Clinic Manager was out but would give her all the information and my concerns. That was 2/12/2026. I have heard nothing. I think they move people through the office like cattle and seeing the doctor at the end for 2 minutes. I will not be going back and recommend going to a smaller Opthalmologist.
