Kirby, Judith A MD - Kirby Eye Center

I had a terrible experience at Kirby Eye Center. The staff is completely unorganized. I completed my paperwork online before my appointment, but when I arrived, they claimed they'd never seen those forms and forced me to redo everything by hand. The practice also requires a $90 refraction test--even if it's not needed and not covered by insurance--which feels like an unethical money grab. I was there strictly for imaging requested by my neurologist, yet I had to chase them down just to get my results in time. Overall, the lack of professionalism, organization, and transparency was unacceptable. I would not recommend this office, not even for a basic eye exam.

If you would like to wait 3 hours to see Dr. Kirby, go ahead and schedule a visit. I said something to her about the wait and she said to me that I should have brought a large book or a movie and a snack. Dr. Kirby said she is very busy and never knows what her schedule is each day due to emergencies, etc. She also said that she spent a lot of time with me at the previous visit. I'm really not sure what was meant by that comment. The eye exam by her took around 2minutes-this is not hyperbole. The eye tests took about the typical time as always at any ophthalmologist office. The assistant was very nice, friendly. I was not given the results of each of the tests and there were several. I suggested, to Dr. Kirby, I would have appreciated a call to let me know that the wait would be 3 hours. In that case, I would have arrived 3 hours past my appointment time or the time I was asked to come to the office. In all, it was a complete waste of time. A 2-minute exam and know nothing from the time I walked in. So, if you want to bring a large book, movie and a snack and wait 3 hours and not receive the results of the tests, go ahead and schedule an appointment.

The best in Dallas indeed! I found out about Dr Kirby over a decade ago when she was featured in Dallas Magazine. I love the care of the staff. Dr. Kirby's thorough, honest and has a professional approach to her work. I can always count on her to do her job and go the extra mile to be sure mine and my husband's eyes are healthy.

I have been a patient of Dr Kirby for a while and I must say she is the best. If you have a emergency she is willing to see you no matter how busy she is she will find time to fit you in her schedule I'm speaking from experience. She's simply the best for me

I think Dr. Kirby is phenomenal. She's a straight shooter and she's very thorough. I feel like I'm in good hands when I visit her. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Kirby and her staff are very efficient and professional. They take the time to explain everything they are doing. Had a cataract removed. Procedure took about 15 minutes. 24 hours later already seeing better. I am very pleased with everything from start to finish. Big thanks to Dr. Kirby and her wonderful staff.

Dr Kirby goes above and beyond. I had an emergency Saturday evening with steel shavings in my eye. Dr Kirby met me Saturday evening and took care of my emergency. Dr. Kirby did not hesitate to take immediate action to care for the situation. She takes her time with you, explains everything to you and what action is needed. Thank you so much...
