Retina Institute of Texas

The doctors are great but the no respect for people's time is awful! They leave, mostly seniors, waiting in that cold office 2-3 hours. When you finally get to see the doctor, the visit is usually 5-10 minutes. And that is after you wait another 10-15 minutes waiting for the doctor to come in the room. The staff must do a better job scheduling. Do better in 2026!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My eye doctor sent a referral to this office and told me to call them to schedule an appointment. When I called, I asked if they had received the referral (expected yes or no answer). Was asked my name which I had already given then asked for date of birth. Was promptly told I was not a patient (duh, I was just referred to them). I was then asked what was the issue, I explained what I gone to my eye doctor for and was rudely told they only do retina issues. Apparently they do not understand that the eye doctor thought it was a retinal issue or he would not have done the referral.

If you have all day, this is the place for you. Dr is competent but they way overbook appointments.

I was referred to this office by my Optometrist and was instructed to call them to set up an appointment to have my retina checked. The person that took my call was rude and asked if I was sure I was having an issue with my retina. My best guess would be yes since my Optometrist referred me to your office. Her response was that they only make appointments for people that have been diagnosed with a retina condition. SMH! Huh, imagine that. That's why I'm calling and hung up. OMG!

I don't write a lot of reviews, the service has to be really great or really bad. In this case it is really bad. I have called a total of 3 times in the last year and every time I call Cindy answers the phone. Literally every..single..time she is so rude, she is so rude to the point that I am pissed off for a few hours afterward. My experiences with this office has been being put on hold for 7 min, when I asked a question I got a short, rude, sarcastic reply and treated badly. I even tried to be nice and asked her if she was ok or having a bad day. She had another rude sarcastic reply. Don't believe me....call and see for yourself how rude they are... Seriously. There are a few places in that area that you could go to, my advice is steer clear of this one

I've been a patient at Retina Institute of Texas in Denton for some time, and am very pleased with my care. Dr. Witherspoon is awesome. I receive injections for wet macular degeneration. Never once have I felt any pain or pressure during these injections. I've always been well treated by staff members. Sure, there's waiting while patients scheduled ahead of me visit various techs before they see the doctor. I always take a book to keep me occupied...at least until it's my time and my eyes are dilated!

I have been coming to this office every month for over a year. I was diagnosed with wet macular degeneration. The office has been exceptionally nice and I love Dr Witherspoon. I have pooling of blood behind my eye and the injections have really helped me regain my sight.

I accompanied my wife to this cattle chute because she is Hispanic and her English is limited. We where ordered to wait three different times in three different locations. We were treated as if we were livestock instead of people. We had a total of four visits. Each visit all Dr Syrquin wanted to do is give my wife an injection but could not administer it because he wanted to verify insurance. When I asked about the charges it was an argument with that batch of an office manager. The manager would try intimidating and would raise her voice to embarrass you.. After 4 visits we went to a different Dr. The new Dr. told my wife that she did not need injections. My wife has recovered and she did not need injections. Dr Dharma treated my wife with courtesy, compassion and respect. Her and her office staff were very professional and polite. Do yourself a favor and don't go to the Retina Institute of Texas. By the way, I called the corporate office and left messages, my calls were never returned. I found out later that the office manager had told everyone that I had accused them of cheating us. That was a lie then, but it's true now.
