Fredericksburg Eye Associates

I recently had lens replacement surgery. My choice to get special lens (Bausch and Lomb en Vista) to correct vision was mainly because I would not have to wear glasses after surgery. Cannot express how happy I am with the results !! Thank you to Dr. Campana and his staff for their excellent treatment. Will highly recommend to everyone !!!

The surgeon and surgery center worked well to make sure they coordinated my appointments between the two offices. The staff at the surgeon's office were readily available to answer any questions I had before and after the surgeries. The whole process reminded me of past times when communication was personal rather than with phone robots and call centers. The surgeon himself, Dr. Cohn, even called me in the evening after each surgery to check up and make sure I had no complications or concerns. This type of service and support is rare these days. Kudos to Dr. Cohn and his office staff!

Today was my first visit with Fredericksburg Eye Associates! I must say I liked everyone from the front desk too Nellie, who performed several tests. I first met Dr. Campagna in August 2024 to discuss lens replacement surgery after my initial cataract surgery with another surgeon left me hyperopic / farsighted in my left eye (i.e. nothing in focus near or far). This is a more complicated procedure and something in which Dr. Campagna has specialized expertise, having trained with two of the preeminent ophthalmologists in the world. Dr. Campagna performed my left eye lens replacement surgery in November 2024, helped me manage through some post-surgical inflammation (common after the invasiveness of the lens replacement procedure), and in November 2025 performed a YAG laser capsulotomy to open up the clouded posterior capsule (another common "side effect" of cataract surgery affecting perhaps 1/3 of patients). Final result - my left eye vision is fantastic! Sharp, clear, and slightly myopic / nearsighted (which is EXACTLY what I wanted / asked for when we selected the replacement lens). I am very thankful to have met Dr. Campagna when I did. It is exceedingly rare to find a doctor in any specialty who is both technically expert AND an exceptional listener / communicator. Dr. Campagna patiently answered all of my questions, allowed me to be an active participant in my replacement lens selection process, and was accessible when I needed him along the way. I live in the Austin area but gladly make the trip to Fredericksburg (2 hours each way) to work with Dr. Campagna.

My wife and I have seen Dr Pluenneke since moving to Fredericksburg in 2012. She is everything we wanted in an opthalmologist, providing exceptional eye care. From routine exams to cataract surgery she has protected our vision.

This was my first appt at Fredericksburg Eye Associates. Dr Campagna was very nice. As well as Linda and the check in and out process. All my questions were answered and recommendations were given for my particular eye care by Dr Campagna. I would recommend Fredericksburg Eye Associates for your eye care.

Dr. Campagna is an excellent clinician and surgeon. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and explains things well. I would recommend him to anyone!

Recently came to know this provider and was impressed from the start. Had cataract surgery done by Dr Pluenneke in the last two weeks. The client care was amazing. Spoke with team member (Amanda) who was so nice and helpful when I had additional questions & concerns. Dr P. followed up after that and again as well personally calling me after both surgeries. Felt heard, cared for and respected through the whole process. Truly it was all about making sure they met my most important eye needs!! A wonderful team and I am most grateful (especially because I was really anxious about having these surgeries...)
