Staff is nice at both locations, I do prefer the Georgetown location though, it's new and nice inside. Dr. Dooner is nice but always seems to be in a rush which I really don't appreciate. When I was going to Texan eye I didn't have to ask them for information. They got my photos out and explained them to me. Dr. Dooner comes in and out and doesn't offer up any real information unless you ask him. Has never once got my eye scans out and explained them to me. I appreciate Texan eye for taking the time to show me what was happening with my eye and explain it to me. Doctor Dooner does not do that and seems rushed every visit. He has helped my eye that is for sure, but I'd prefer someone who seems to care about informing their patients more. I'm sure some people don't mind but not my cup of tea.
All of the staff were great and very happy and friendly. The atmosphere was great, I have one complain, why does it take 2 hours. I waited in waiting ares for over 1. 5
hours and this happens every time I have an appointment. I know that the Doctors are busy and have other patients. But a 1.5 hour wait is a bit too long . I was there on time.
I've been waiting for three months for this appointment, and I provided my insurance information when the appointment was made. Over the last two weeks, I have been corresponding with them about the medications I'm on and several medical questions. I also spoke with someone today before leaving for the appointment, and no one said we needed to verify your insurance information. They didn't attempt to verify it until I walked through the door. They told me they couldn't accept my insurance, even after showing them that they are in-network. Called my insurance broker, and she said I was in network and she could work it all out for me, but after sitting there for over an hour with little assistance from staff and after hearing the two desk girls ask each other over and over if they were sending mean text messages, I was over it. I would never give this place my business. They wasted my time, my money, and a day off of work that I took off for an appointment that took three months to get. Incompetent, to say the least. I never even received an apology for wasting my time. Bottom line, my insurance should have been verified before I ever left my house today. I was told it was completed three months ago, and it was never raised again until today, even though we had spoken a dozen times before then. I do not recommend this place.
Very professional. Niceness starting from front desk to all the staff to finally Dr Storey. Each person I encountered was nice, polite and knowledgeable. They answered directly to the point. Which I like. Dr Storey explained everything in simple detail that was understandable. You didn't get lost. He was polite and very skilled. Thank you all for your thoughtfulness.
Very efficiently-run practice, like a well-oiled machine. What immediately occurred to me, is that all the staff that I encountered were extremely courteous, upbeat, and made every effort to make me feel comfortable. Each tech that I encountered told me what to expect in that part of the exam, So no unpleasant surprises. That is something I very rarely see nowadays. The whole appointment was handled so well, from beginning to end. And the clinic was spotlessly clean and very well maintained - another plus you don't always see in a doctors office.
Before the appointment, a staff member called to go over my medical history in person, rather than me just filling out a form. I really appreciated that little bit of personable attention. Dr. Nixon was succinct and very professional about the diagnosis, and was willing to answer all my questions. All in all, a very positive experience at Austin Retina Associates in Georgetown.
I noticed that the vision in my left eye had deteriorated and called for an appointment. They got me in in less than 2 days. Appropriate treatment was done after a diagnostic evaluation. Everyone was very polite and helpful.
It was my first time there yesterday, everyone was super nice and professional. They got me in and out quickly. Made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I would definitely go back in the future. Thank you Jacki Mendoza
