Eye Care Institute: John R. Esters, M.D.

Dr Esters is the absolute BEST! He explains every diagnosis, treatment, test and procedure in a manner that will leave you knowledgeable and comfortable with them. He is very patient and has a very calming demeanor. I left the office confident and feeling assured that I was in very good hands. His staff is Amazing too. My experience in his office was unmatched. He is a Great doctor and I highly recommend his office. Thank You Dr. Esters !

You get one star because the staff was great. Keisha was amazing. The doctor was not very kind and every question was met with another question. He handed me a coupon a d told me to buy artificial tears. I didn't even get a complete exam that I paid a $40 copay for. And he didn't want to wait for my pupils to dilate so the whole visit was for nothing and a waste of time and money! He said ok we are done, come back again. I asked about the floater that is bothering me and no answers. Your eyes are dry He said. And just dismissed me. WtH really!!??? Would not recommend!!! I wished I had read the reviews before hand.

I've had a disappointing experience with this clinic. What should have been a single appointment for me was stretched out into three separate visits. After reading other reviews, I now see this seems to be a common pattern -- appointments that could be handled in one session are broken up, which results in multiple insurance charges and unnecessary inconvenience for the patient. I also notified the office that I had already met my out-of-pocket maximum for my previous two visits. It's been over a month since I requested a refund, and I still haven't received it. Additionally, I found the doctor to be not very friendly or approachable, which added to my overall dissatisfaction with the experience. I hope this helps others when choosing an eye care provider.

My experience at the Dr's office, I was not nervous, because the staff are patience, and pleasant employees. Dr. Esters is very helpful, in getting the help I needed. Thank you so much.

First time there everyone was very kind. I really felt welcomed, and the doctor was very carrying about what he was doing. Thanks.

Stafff was not very helpful on confirming insurance they didn't want to do any of the verification they want the patient to do all the work . Dr esters was not very informative he didn't even know he was doing a full examination, I went in for a diabetes and a blow I took from a baseball to the eye and told him about the issues and he said if you have any of the symptoms make appointment I told him I do have the symptoms he just repeated leaving it alone isn't good and to make a have a ful examination I told him I thought that's what you did he said yes I did but if you have any symptoms to make appointment and don't ignore it and let a eye specialist know apparently h emit not be a eye specialists horrible and waste of time .

My wife and I have been going here since we moved to Killeen 3 yrs ago. We are extremely happy with the front desk and eye techs and Dr Esters. On my last visit techs Mike and Jeff, both fairly new were friendly and professional. They explained what they were doing and asked questions about my overall eye and family health history. Dr Esters is very thoughtful and thorough. He also did my wifes cataract surgery. She was very happy with results and stated no pain during or after procedure. I would highly recommend this office to family or friends or anyone looking for eye care.

I appreciated how polite and friendly the front desk staff was with me and consistently with other patients. The young lady clinician associate was amazing with me. Unfortunately I do not recall her name, but she was patient with me while it took forever for my eyes to dilate. Dr. Esters was very professional and polite. His table-side manner and patience was much appreciated as he thoroughly explained things and answered my questions. I felt he cared about the findings and was very quick to make sure we work toward a positive outcome. I look forward to having him as my ophthalmologist.
