My mom had her cataract surgery with Dr. Salem last month and we are so happy with the results! Liz was so awesome and patient with us coordinating the surgery even with the last minute changes to our schedule, thank you so much! We loved the surgery center they operate out of at UH, everyone was so courteous, accommodating, and professional! My mom had her initial consultation at Mann Eye Institute, and the surgeon wasn't even present to introduce himself or to discuss the procedure, which didn't make my mom feel comfortable proceeding. When she met Dr. Salem during the consultation he was so patient and kind, great bed side manner, and he didn't just push the most expensive option like Mann Eye. Dr. Salem was highly recommended to us by an optometrist not associated with the practice and my sister in law had cataract surgery with him and said wonderful things about him as well. We are so glad we went with Dr. Salem, thank you!

Dr. Salem has performed three surgeries on my 81-year-old mother! He is beyond exceptional. He is very competent and well-mannered. He listens and cares for his patients. When I was in the hospital, the nurses assured me I was in good hands, as Dr. Salem had performed surgery on them, too. They said he's the only one I trust to do anything on my eyes. I highly recommend Dr. Salem to anyone who wants a successful eye surgery!! My mother had cataract surgery and her vision is wow!! She's so happy! She also has a successful Pterygium surgery. A+

Dr Salem did my LASIK eye surgery and did a phenomenal job. He was professional, attentive, and patient throughout the process. He answered all my (many) questions, walked me through the procedure and made sure I was comfortable, and answered my questions during recovery. The entire process went smoothly and exactly as expected and the results were perfect. Could not recommend Dr Salem any more! EDIT: 1 month post op. Vision stabilized at 20/10 (noticeably better than 20/20 with my glasses)!! Absolutely incredible

Dealing with eye issues is scary enough but Liz walks you through everything and explains it all in such detail. Then you get to actually sit down and talk with the surgeon Dr. Salem(which doesn't happen in other clinics)! Getting to talk to Dr. Salem about every step of the procedure will put your mind at total ease! I have been so impressed since my initial consultation. Today I had my one week follow up appointment after having cataract surgery with the light adjustable lens +. It is incredible I am 48 and went with this lens due to my lifestyle as an outdoors man, it is a little more expensive but in my situation it was my best option. I went from wearing glasses for two years to incredible clear vision, even went to follow up appointment the next day without glasses. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Salem and his team! They have all been so kind and compassionate and at my visit today when I explained how amazing my vision is, I could tell Dr. Salem was just excited for me. He called me the evening after surgery to check on me, and has walked me step by step through everything even the surgery. He truly cares about his patient's and in my opinion has set the gold standard for other doctor's to follow. He is leading the way, if you need the care he provides you are not going to get better care anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Salem and Team Update: I am finished with the light adjustable lens implant. The entire experience was 5 star from beginning to end. We only had to make one adjustment and then completed the lock in portion of the process. The final result is incredible! Actually mind blowing, my vision has not been this clear since lasik 24 years ago. Dr. Salem has it all figured out what a kind, knowledgeable, compassionate doctor should be like. He says in one of his videos you are treated and part of the family here. When I first saw that I thought just clever marketing. I found it to be 100% a fact you are treated like family. Will actually miss appointment visits a little bit because I always felt good seeing his team and welcomed. He was just as excited for my new vision as I was, he is doing this to help people because he truly cares. Give them a shot!

My husband, Randy Joiner, needed cataract surgery but is going through some other health challenges. Diagnostic Eye Center's Dr. Andrew Salem and his support staff, Liz Guzman and Ryan Garcia, worked with us every step of the way to make it happen. They accommodated Randy's schedule and worked with Randy's other doctors. Surgery was very efficient and Dr. Salem personally called Randy after surgery late in the day to check on him. If 10 stars were available, I would have given it for the team at Diagnostic Eye Center. Dr. Andrew Salem did two very successful surgeries on me although I fell asleep and was unable to assist during the first. Keep in mind, it was not a surgery that required sleep. It happens when you are relaxed and confident about the surgeon. Dr. Salem not only answered my endless questions, his assistant, Liz followed up with calls before and after the surgery and ensured I was comfortable. My second surgery a week later was over in minutes. Yeah I stayed awake. So blessed that I have 20/20 vision after receiving cataract surgery with the laser vision correction.
