Heights Eye Studio - Optometrist in Houston Heights

Heights Eye Studio presents itself as a high-end optical boutique offering exclusive designer frames and five-star service. While their selection of designer eyewear, including brands like Gucci, is impressive, my overall experience has unfortunately not reflected the level of service they advertise. I recently purchased a pair of Gucci glasses from this studio. After nearly a year, the frames required adjustments and had to be sent overseas for repairs. The amount of time it has taken to receive my glasses back has been excessive and unreasonable. For a business that promotes quality care and premium service, I expected a much faster and more efficient process. In addition, I did not feel genuinely valued as a customer. The service felt transactional -- as if the focus was solely on making the sale rather than building a relationship or providing continued support. From the moment I walked in, I felt judged, as though assumptions were made about my ability to afford the glasses. That perception alone significantly impacted my experience. Pricing is another concern. The markup on frames appears unnecessarily high compared to other optical studios offering similar designer brands and services. Because of these issues -- slow repair turnaround, lack of attentive service, and pricing concerns -- I would rate Heights Eye Studio 2 out of 5 stars. I would recommend exploring other eye studios if you are looking for respectful customer service, transparent pricing, and efficient care. This will be the last time this business receives money from me or my family. They promised me a glasses time pick up 1 hr before closing. When I called and shared my eta. They told me they would be open until 2:15 PM. After arriving on time. The whole business was closed down and the cleaning lady's were cleaning. This is poor customer service. Made a same day appointment and was able to fill out a questionnaire on my phone prior to arrival. I arrived and the store was cute and clean - I checked in quickly and was seen swiftly at every step. There was little to no waiting. Staff were friendly and efficient. Happy I ended up in their office.

Scheduling is easy through their online portal or by calling, and the office is clean, welcoming, and supported by a friendly staff. What makes Dr. Nguyen stand out is how he treats his patients. He is incredibly warm, patient, and attentive. He listens to everything you say, even when it has nothing to do with your eyes, and you never feel rushed. He explains every detail in a way that feels relatable and easy to understand, and he always takes the time to show me my images and compare them to examples so I really grasp what's happening. His honesty is something I truly appreciate. He tells you exactly what you need to know without making you feel guilty or overwhelmed. I've gone as an insurance patient and as a cash-pay patient, and both experiences have been great. For me, seeing Dr. Nguyen is not just an expense. It feels like the best investment in my eye health, which is why I keep coming back. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely thoughtful optometrist, Dr. Nguyen is the one.

Nice doctors' and staff. The facility is clean and they use up-to-date technology, making it less painful and uncomfortable for the patient.

Great office and staff. Very informative from the front desk to the provider. I have purchased several frames and always have amazing service. My annual eye exam was explained very detailed to me and I loved being educated about my visit.
