He's an excellent ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon. Been seeing him for years. He knows the special needs if you previously had Lasik vision correction and currently need cataract surgery. It's not the same as other people and he wants to ensure a good outcome for his patients. Additionally, his front office person Yolanda, is fantastic. She is thorough, caring and efficient. One of the best "right hands" I've ever encountered. Their surgery center team is top notch. I was amazed at their proficiency, efficiency without seeming rushed, and their care and concern for me and also that I was informed every step of the way.

Dr Lim told me what he was seeing as he examined my eyes. Though he told me that I have cataracts, he assured me that this is absolutely normal for my age. He gave me two choices for addressing the condition, with plenty of explanation of each alternative, pushing neither one. I was very pleased with this annual checkup, as I have been with all previous ones. Dr Lim is an excellent clinician.

About John M. Lim, MD
Dr John M Lim was born in Canton, China in 1952 and has lived in Houston, Texas since the age of nine. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1969. Dr Lim attended the University of Texas and the University of Houston for his undergraduate degree and received a post-graduate degree as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston in 1976. After two years of Optometric practice, Dr Lim returned to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and received his Doctor Of Medicine degree in 1982. Dr Lim's post-graduate medical training began with his internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston and continued through three years of ophthalmology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
