Lorena Castaneda, OD

I am extremely disappointed with the scheduling and communication at Dr. Castaneda's office. It took several phone calls just to secure the appointment, and during that process we were repeatedly told they did not have the referral, even though it had been faxed back in January. After finally getting everything confirmed and receiving multiple confirmations for today's visit, we arrived as scheduled only to be told that the office had made a mistake and booked us on the wrong day. We were then informed they could not see us even after verifying that their system text me confirmation of today's appointment. This was a significant inconvenience and reflects serious issues with organization and internal communication. Patients rearrange work schedules, family responsibilities, and transportation to make appointments. That level of effort deserves accuracy and professionalism. I hope the office improves its scheduling and referral management systems so this does not happen to other patients.

They treat my senior mom very well. She gets anxiety when going to any medical appointment but this one.

Horrible service, If you go to this place prepare to throw away $500 dollars or more. I've never had a bad experience with a Vision facility before. They are extremely overpriced, they gave me the glasses without asking me to check them upfront and when I got home I checked them and my vision was very blurry, I went to the office and Maria Elena told me that this was normal because I was in the process of leaving other glasses. She proposed a new check-up with this doctor when she knew it was a lie they would not do it. (They actually didn't when I went back) I came back in the afternoon, the doctor began to tell me that I had to wait 4 weeks to get used to my glasses. She began to give me a sermon of lies and she even tried to humiliate me by saying "are you here for the money you paid?" ($400 the cheapest they offer + the consultation) She said she wanted to see the prescription from my previous doctor and would not continue helping until not seeing the prescription from my previous doctor and that she had other patients and not have time for me. Of course this was after she already had the money in her hands. They were no longer treating me like a patient, they were treating it as if it was my fault that their work failed, they were trying to pretend they were solving my problem when they were just lying. When I was there for my appointment I could see another person come to complain about the same problem with their glasses that had been given to them as they were also blurry. I don't recommend this lady, she does not act professional, she is rude if you complain about what they do wrong. They contradicted themselves. The doctor left to her room and ignored me. After that, they never called, I had to call them to and ask what to do with my glasses and they didn't want to even try to fix my problem. There are definitely much better doctors in the area, more trained and more considerate. After spending over $500.00. Buyer beware, no cash refund on BAD PRESCRIPTIONS. It's a nightmare to trust this woman, she tried to tell me that they take too long with patients and that she's the best at what she does. Which is false. Do not go here and tell others this place is a ripoff seriously they should be shut down. They give you the incorrect prescription. Totally incompetent people in this place.

Dr. Castaneda has been the best optometrist I have seen. She has a lot of patience with kids and the elderly. She explains everything in detail. She shows that she cares about her patients. She makes you feel welcomed. The only downside is the prices they have for their lenses. The frames are cheap but my grandmother ended up paying half less at another location. So for an eye exam I definitely recommend. Just too expensive on the lenses.

Horrible service, took about 20 mins (Melissa) on hold for me to just get an appointment. I held on because she is one of the providers of my vision insurance. On the day of my appointment 10/20 the lady at the front desk, not Melissa, was rude, she made me feel like I was bothering her by being there. She rolled her eyes at me, when I told her I didn't get any text to fill out paper work, which they sent to a number unknown to me They wanted my health care insurance also, I was told I have to pay for a contact eye exam, $75-$90. So, I called my vision insurance and they said she doesn't follow the guidelines of my vision plan, mind you she's on the provider list, so in other words, she's a provider who makes sure you have to pay for a contact eye exam. Don't waste your time. Bad service.

I walked in to see if by any chance I could be seen today of course I have insurance. But the receptionist could only focus on the fact that I was not wearing a mask. Rude did not answer my questions and dismissed me. Well I was going to purchase glasses contacts and sunglasses but not from here. I know an appointment is needed and that would of been fine...but her rudeness . No Thank You.

Rude front desk lady who was wrong about my insurance. Accused us of being wrong and to call our insurance and they said it hadn't expired which was contrary to the big lady with an attitude.

Dr. Castaneda and her staff are very professional and friendly. I highly recommend her, she describes in detail the exam and takes the time to explain and listen to your concerns, making it easy for you to understand was going on. I will highly recommend this office.
