Memorial Eye Center - Oak Forest

I have gone here for a few years. Great office staff. The eye doctor Megan was very, very detailed and provided a high level of care. I'd follow her to any clinic in Houston and am glad she has moved to this location. You can just tell she has a great heart and desire to help/serve others - that goes for the support staff too - from making an appointment, to checking in, to glasses fitting, to paying (not anyone's favorite part) and leaving. Highly recommend this location and look forward to my next visit (unlike the visit to the dentist where they always seem to find a cavity). PS I do recommend taking the Retinal Photos. Megan walked me through the findings and I have a doctor visit to schedule with my primary physician. It costs a little more, but they get a full snapshot of your whole eye AND you don't have to dilate your eyes. So glad I did that.

Dr. Turner and the front staff are truly wonderful! My daughter is very shy, and I was a little nervous about how the exam would go. But Dr. Turner was so kind, patient, and thorough that she immediately felt comfortable. The whole visit was smooth and stress-free, and we were in and out quickly without ever feeling rushed. Even though I've moved, I still make the trip back to this office because the care and experience are worth it every time. Thank you so much for always taking such great care of us!

This place was good before it became Memorial Eye Center. Not so good anymore. The guy who sizes the frames told me 3 times they don't make glasses out of real glass anymore. Told me it was a safety issue. Finally I asked him why he keeps telling me a lie? Caught him off guard. He mumbled a bit and said that their place didn't make them. I said, well, how come you just don't say that, why you telling me they don't make them, as if I can't get them anymore. Lying to me just to make a sale. Won't be going back.

Best eye exam I've had in 30 years of getting my eyes checked. Everyone on staff is friendly, professional and super helpful. Great selection of frames and I'm so happy with my purchases.

I had a very unpleasant experience at this clinic. From the beginning, I was asked to fill out several forms. I read and signed only the ones that matched the procedures I did want. I clearly explained to the doctor's assistant what I needed, and her first question was whether my insurance would cover everything -- she said yes. They performed the exam, and then told me to wait for the doctor. While waiting, another assistant asked me to sign more paperwork. Unfortunately, I was distracted and trusted them, so I signed. Later, I was told I had to pay $174 for the exams and an additional $10 copay, supposedly outlined in that last document I signed -- but this was never explained beforehand. I felt deceived. There was no transparency about what they were doing or how much it would cost. Had they explained everything clearly from the start, I could have made an informed decision. The doctor herself was kind, but it's incredibly disappointing that they don't take the time to explain things properly before proceeding -- and then surprise you with extra charges that insurance doesn't cover. I left feeling upset and refused any prescription or to pay for a service I didn't knowingly agree to. I do not recommend this place if you care about honesty and clear communication in healthcare.

The staff here is so pleasant and polite. After an unpleasant experience at the heights location the employees here were able to turn this incident around. Special shoutout to the practice manager Mariah who was able to add my secondary insurance on file. I will be switching to this location for my future eye exams.

Dr. Chau is very thorough, friendly and genuinely cares about her patients' eye health. The exams are always comprehensive as they use the latest technology. The staff is awesome. They are always friendly and very efficient. I highly recommend this office if you are looking for quality eye care.
