Cataract & Surgical Center Lubbock

Assembly line type enviroment.. My Father-in-law needed surgery and I would be there to pick him up. The first eye surgery was fine. No complaints. Today, was different. We checked in, squeezed into a ton of other "waiting people" and waited... and waited.. and waited... after I noticed people who arrived waaay after us getting pulled back, I asked if maybe we weren't actually checked in. The receptionist that checked us in said we were 2nd after lunch! Then why were we scheduled at 11:15am?? We sat another 30min and finally he was taken back.. 30 min goes by and I get a call saying he was ready. I went to the receptionist and asked where to go and if looks could kill! Dripping with attitude and venom.. Multiple other folks started to ask what was taking so long and it was clear, this place isnt about patient care, its about getting as many people in and out as possible.. we are home now and so far, his eye seems to be okay.. so, ADVOCATE for yourself or you will be stuck in that waiting room for hours! RANT OVER!

Was not called back for over an hour after scheduled surgery time.Waiting room was so small family members were asked to wait in the car, which my husband did for about 2 hrs in September heat. Once called back everything was so efficient and great. Dr Shoukfey is amazing along with back room, surgical team. Need larger waiting room at surgery center, as every patient is required to have someone drive them home.

My husband has been going To Dr khater for 4 or more years and over the years, the service has gotten really bad in the front..All they do is sit and talk to each other. And don't do what they're supposed to do I have called several times and every time I call nobody answers the phone .now they have automated phone and they still don't answer . I guess I'm not the only one that has this problems according to the reviews all I wanted to get is a prescription filled for my husband..

It was a rough start for sure...but there are some notable mentions of superior performance by Rhea, Natalie, Amie and Monika. The front desk is the worst of it all...Beyond their inability to show any form of empathy, everyone else seems to be pretty great and we are fairly happy with the service we received and their openness to feedback for improvement is very notable. I hope they improve their processes for the future clients and I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone.

I just began seeing Dr. Faith early this year 2022, his office staff is excellent very professional and expeditious. Dr. faith has been very thorough in explaining the diagnosis of my eye situation I'm very candid about the positive outcome. He's already performed once cataract surgery And now I'm on my second surgery of a cornea transplant. I'm very pleased with his treatment of my eyes and his positive reinforcement of good outcomes. I couldn't have asked for a more positive and considerate treatment from this doctor. In my opinion he's the best doctor I've ever known.

It seems like the office staff needs more training. Last year I told them my daughter wanted contacts. Come to find out when we went to the appt. with Dr.Sherman who we had been to before, he doesn't do contact exams and that we would have to get the exam done at the eyeglass place which of course you're going to have to pay for. We did have to end up paying for another exam somewhere else. This is not cool when you're on medicaid. Never heard of an eye doctor that doesn't do contact exams. So basically the exam was useless since she wanted contacts.This year I forgot and rebooked with them. They booked our appointment in an "established patient slot" instead of a "yearly exam slot" and called me the afternoon before when I I couldn't get the phone call since I was back at work and they were closed when I got off. I had already taken off work for the next day- 2 weeks ago. They had to move my kids two appointments. They just book you whenever without even talking to you 1st like you can just take off whenever you want to work around them. To me if they messed up, they should just work around it.The girl on the phone did not say sorry. I will find another place.

My has been a patient of Dr. Shoukfeh for a number of years and Dr. Shoukfeh is an amazing doctor and takes great care of my mother. The issue is not with Dr. Shoukfeh but with the staff at the receptionist. The office installed kiosks so to have patients check via the kiosk and the reason my mom was there to see the Dr due to her eye pressure which makes it difficult for her to see. When she asked for assistance the the made my mom feel very uncomfortable as she raised her voice at her and this is a Dr's office. Today when we walked in we weren't greeted by Karlee. I had to ask her name to write this review. It would be nice to be acknowledged and ask if we need assistance that they are readily available. The level of service by the receptionist the last few times has been poor and they need to be coached on common courtesy and respect.

Incompetent! Husband had an appointment today and after all the emails, texts and phone calls to confirm today's appointment they call yesterday afternoon to say doctor #1 has an emergency but he can see doctor #2. Same day same time. This morning, now doctor #2 is out sick, but doctor #1 can see him at 9am Texas time. No way can we make it there in time(we're in New Mexico). Husband asks what happened to his original appointment and they don't show he has an appointment for doctor #1, of course not, y'all canceled it.
