Dr. Cocking's is professional and transparent. My daughter suffered a medical emergency in Odessa and he read her charts from Lubbock @ 9pm that evening. His office has minimal wait time and receptionist is pleasant as well.

Been seeing Dr. Cockings for 2 years now. We came here for a 2nd opinion for our son and have consistently continued our appointments. He is very understanding and if you ask questions he will be happy to answer. I am very much a researcher type of mom so I always have a lot of questions and he always answers them and gives me the best advice for my son. I have had instances where I needed to ask a question over the phone and he would always call me back after I left a message with the front desk. Our sons vision seems to be improving under his care and we are extremely thankful for the early intervention. Would and have recommended Dr. Cockings!

We've used Dr Cockings many times over the years. He was able to get us in short notice in a situation that was somewhat of an emergency and saved us a lengthy ER visit, despite his schedule being completely booked for the day. I've even had to send an employee in to see him with an infection with little notice, and he was back to normal in 24hrs. I'm sure scheduling doesn't always work that easily, but we definitely appreciated that it was possible in our situations. He's always been helpful and honest with us, and one of the few Dr's we trust to not push unnecessary medication or treatment. Thank you, as always, for all your help!

First I'd like to say Dr. Cockings was excellent! Very friendly, understanding, easy to talk to and just comfortable to be around . However the elder lady at the front office was completely different. Not very welcoming with a snarky attitude. Wasn't very helpful at all. If I wouldn't have asked more questions she would have let me walk out after driving 2hrs just to get there. It seems as if she hates her job. At the end we were extremely satisfied with our visit.

We had a mostly pleasant visit and really enjoyed Dr. Cockings. The front desk lady however is extremely rude in person and even worse on the phone. She is so rude that I actually thought she was joking because there is no way "professionals" actually talk to people the way she did. I called her for a question and she refused to help me. I was APPALLED at her behavior. The review would've been 5 stars if it wasn't for the ONLY office lady in the whole building apparently.

We have followed with Dr. Cockings over the last 3 years for our daughter's strabismus. Dr. Cockings has gone out of his way to help us and reassure us through the slow process of trying to treat strabismus. Would go with him again.

We LOVE Dr. Cockings! He is always smiling and very good with my kids, even when my young son bounces around his office like a monkey after the 3.5 hour drive to his office. I highly recommend him and I feel blessed to have found such a great doctor for my daughter. Very professional and patient and I appreciate how informative he has always been! He is the absolute BEST!

This is such a weird office and weird vibe in general. Both the lady at the front is rude and not friendly at all and the doctor is the same. It doesn't resemble any of the kids offices I've ever been to. The doctor himself is very rude to parents and kids. How are you blaming my 18month old baby for you not getting an accurate exam bc "he won't sit still". Obviously he wont choose to sit still and you didn't do your job as a CHILDS eye doctor to make him comfortable. We didn't agree with Cockings assessment and he's definitely not fond of kids or gentle enough to be working with kids. He made a comment about how he is okay with kids eyes being lazy or crossed be he makes his money off cross eyed kids which is just off putting for a doctor to say. They were not gentle with my infant and also just laid him back and squeezed way too much eyedrops in his eyes. You're doing to be there for at least 2+hours and they discriminate against Medicaid patients. Overall, in my opinion this facility isn't genuinely concerned with your child's eyes getting better. It's disappointing to see. Also just FYI, Dr. Cockings said glasses wouldn't help my child and that he would definitely need surgery... I drove to Dallas to get a second opinion; his new eye doctor had zero problems getting an accurate exam all while keeping my child entertained and comfortable, he prescribed him glasses and fully expects his eye to strengthen with the use of glasses/eye patches for 45mins daily, not just 15mins like Cockings said and also he doesn't think my son will require the surgery at all bc his vision problem isn't that severe. We were at his new doctors office for 1.5 hrs including wait time + eye dilation. They squeezed one drop in each eye and were friendly like kids doctors should be. So my assessment is that this doctor and his office will post pone your kids treatment, blame you and your kids, and ultimately let their eyes get worse because all they truly care about is a dollar amount. Do yourself and your child a favor, just drive the distance and get your child the care they deserve and the experience you deserve. This place is just not it.
