The wait times at the Harlingen clinic are a bit ridiculous. Showing up for a 2:00 appointment and not getting seen until 3:00 is just an inconvenience. But the staff in the back were very nice and the doctor who performed the tests to see if I was a candidate were excellent. She was very nice and explained to me everything I needed to know. HOWEVER. The day of my surgery at the McAllen clinic was exceptional. I showed up and was called to the back immediately. I was very nervous leading up to the preparation but the staff quickly put my mind at ease. The nurse who prepared me did an excellent job of calming down and prepping me. Now Dr. pena. I've never met a kinder and more enthusiastic doctor in my life. He made put my mind even more at ease by carrying a conversation with me and not making me feel like I'm below him. His hospitality is through the roof and his skills are even higher. I went in and he was finished in no time. I give all thanks to god and Dr pena for his precision and professionalism. I highly recommend anybody wanting to do this procedure to have this Dr perform it. Thank you so much Dr Pena!!!

I liked how Doctor Pena began my consultation with one question, what do you do for a living? When I gave my response, he explained the best LASIK options that will benefit my life and job duties. He took his time to answer questions and his explanations were clear and helpful for deciding the best procedure for me. Also, the staff was so nice before and after the procedure.

I'm giving 1 start because I cannot give less than that. If you really appreciate your eyes and your MONEY DO NOT go to this place and DO NOT let Pena put his hands on your valuable eyes.
Horrible experience, and NOT only that, I got to pay for it!!!
I had lasik 1 yr ago, attend all appointments, followed instructions up to the letter, and my eyesight didnt improve. And Guess what? Mr Pena ants to re-touch my eyes and charge my again, how about that?? And offered me a HIGHER dollar option.......
If you appreciate your eyes and money DO NOT GO to this place.... Look for alternatives!!!

The doctor explained the options thoroughly. The problem was with the receptionist with long hair. I signed in upon arrival. I wrote my initial and last name. She made a big deal out of it's and stated that she would never know who that was! I had an appointment so how could she not figure it out. She told me in a rude manner 3 times to write down my full name. She wrote my name down herself but she kept repeating herself. I feel this is a form of elder abuse on her part. She should stay home if she is going to mistreat patients.
