I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Dr. Shaw and the entire team at the Dr. Shaw Eye Center. From the very first consultation in March to my PRK surgery just yesterday, every step of the process has been nothing short of exceptional. The professionalism, warmth, and genuine care from every single staff member made me feel comfortable, confident, and incredibly well taken care of throughout this journey. I truly felt like more than just a patient--they treated me like family. A special and deeply heartfelt thank-you goes to Monica, who has been my guiding light through this entire process. Her knowledge, patience, and kindness made such a difference. She answered every question, calmed every worry, and ensured I always felt informed and supported. I truly don't know what I would've done without her. Dr. Shaw himself is an outstanding surgeon--thorough, compassionate, and clearly an expert in his field. I felt completely at ease knowing I was in the best hands possible. I would recommend Dr. Shaw, his team, and this facility 100 times over. If you are considering PRK or any eye procedure, this is the place to go. Thank you all for giving me such a wonderful experience and, most importantly, the gift of perfect vision!

Made an appointment with ample time and they called to reschedule last minute and postponed appointment for over a month! When I did see the Dr. I asked for the prescription for contacts and he said go to the optometrist counter and get fitted. Now in order to get contacts I need to pay again. I should have cancelled my appointment when they postponed.

Scheduled my daughter's annual appointment. When I got there, I was told it wasn't for that office. Ive never had an appointment at another office before so I asked when somebody was planning to let me know. It was 10 minutes before my appointment time and I wouldn't make it to north mcallen. She suggested I could wait to be seen, but she could not assure me that I would be done in 2.5 hours when I needed to pick up my son. I asked to reschedule and asked for a school excuse for my daughter. She said she wouldn't give me one, that we had to have seen the dr. So they messed up our appointment and then refused to provide an excuse for the school. What is the reason for this? So they can ensure you're billed? Trash!

I just got my LASIK eye surgery, im 1 week post op and i already love my results. Monica was super helpful guiding me through the whole process and explained everything very well. It was a great experience and customer service was great. Highly recommend!!!

Worse place ever! My wife makes an appointment mouths in advance, they don't know how to find insurance company, don't know their left from their right. Avoid this place at all costs!! If I could give negative stars I would. Over priced, incompetent, horrible customer service. They take full responsibility for mistakes but yet you still have to pay. Do NOT GO HERE!!! You will regret it.

We will never go back to the Shah Eye Center. My husband went in telling them he had a headache everyday for 3 weeks and he couldn't see out of his right eye. During the exam the tech didn't act at all concerned with this. Neither did the Dr. He prescribed some eye drops and told my husband to come back in 2 weeks. We went to another eye Dr. Who took these symptoms seriously. After an exam, he diagnosed my husband with GCA which is a very serious condition. He couldn't believe the Dr. at Shah didn't catch this. He said it didnt take a genius to diagnose this. My husband had to immediately go to the emergency room. 3 days later he is still in the hospital. He could have died with the poor care he got at the Shah Eye Center.
