Worse experience ever. Beware of hidden fees! My son couldn't get his "free" trial contact lenses that is covered by our insurance because we had to pay a $30 fee so they could "teach" him how to put them on. Supposedly it's a policy but they don't have that written down anywhere! These kind of fees should be written down to make people aware before getting fitted for contacts. Eventually we had to pay because services were already provided. Absolutely ridiculous!
Side note: Dr Nguyen at Perspective Eye Care located inside Walmart in Fairmont has the worse bedside manners!
If you want competency this is not the place, the Dr. is good but the staff is not, 1st they don't answer the phone, 2nd when they finally do answer they are short and will give you the incorrect information. I called to make sure they had the contacts ready before I head out, guess what? It was a blank trip and to top it off, the staff don't know anything and can't do anything. Supposedly they will call me when they arrive, which that's what I was told a week ago. But it was my fault for even going there in the first place, I should ed have read the reviews first.
Stopped by here to make an appointment for my son to get a eye exam surprisingly they were pretty booked up. A couple of years ago you couldn't pay me to come here with that terrible staff, but now things has changed only time will tell.
Dr. Nguyen was great and professional. Went in for an eye exam to get a new prescription for contacts. She was very easy to talk to. explained everything well and answered all my questions.
My previous eye exam (at another optometrist) felt rushed and I think they didn't dial in my prescription 100% right. BUT Dr Nguyen did really made sure it was just right!
Located at Walmart on Fairmont. Right side entrance is a door before the main Walmart entrance.
Neat and clean office. Terrific experience overall. Thanks doctor Nguyen
5 stars plus!
Perspective Eye Care never fails to please me--yes, I may sound dramatic right now, but this is the best optometry place I've been to by far. The office itself is appealing to the eye, and the staff are friendly. What I'm most amazed by, though, are my appointments with Dr. Kaylyn Nguyen. She is persistently clear and thorough with the examinations-- you can *tell* this doctor knows her stuff. Lastly, I always find myself walking out satisfied with my prescriptions. Overall, everything is exceptional, and this place deserves far more than the 5 stars I am able to give!
Myself and my youngdaughter have been loyal patients since June 2021. Dr. Kaylyn was thorough and friendly Everytime. The office staff doesn't try too hard to be approachable but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and attributing that the the confined layout of the office suite itself which keeps them tucked away from the waiting room. Though, it can be annoying to hear the 3-4 female employees talking and laughing, in their cramped office, while your sitting in a waiting room and have yet to have one inform you of what's next.
Btw, it's a clean, one doctor practice with one exam room.
I I ambeyond grateful because she broke the mold by asking questions and encouraging me to see my PCP for possible underlying medical concerns like an inflammatory disease as she documented an extreme change in vision over the course of only 6 months. 4 stars!!
EDITjanuary 2024, 4 stars down to 1 star:
I paid for eye am glasses & contacts, they did not have trail contacts in my RX in stock. I was told they'd order them and call me when they're ready. I confirmed they were ordering 3 different kinds as per my discussion with the doctor. A couple of weeks later I called to get the status and was told they'd have to order them Again because they ran out. After my irritation was known, I made it clear a phone call is necessary for someone to know to pick up. About a week later they called but I wasn't able to pick up until 2 weeks later. To my fury, they only ordered one type bc "your record doesn't say t
For you to try different types" I quoted the doctor d my previous conversations with the receptions all stating 3 types due to the doctor wanting to see which will be better for my eye condition.....this charade of my being at beck and call to insufficient work went on for a while especially since the doctor had advised i try each type for about 1 weeks.
After a 2 day trial with the 3rd pair, I called to see about speaking with the doctor bc I hadn't found any of them comfortable. But I was met with a 6 months expiry delimna and told of new fees being charged. I complained but to no avail.asked to speak to the doctor was put on hold and then the receptionist said the doctor will speak to you during your laps office exam.
I went in to the office to try to catch the doctor thinking my face could refresh her memoryof my case. I was in the waiting room speaking to the receptionist, the doctor stepped out of the exam roo. With a salad or some food in her hand, stood and listened to me just long enough for me to turn her direction while sayiing e I needed to speak to her and then she ducked her head, and literally took 2 staps back into her exam room and closed the door. I was dumbfounded! The receptionist had the audacity watch that and then look me dead in my not so blind eye and say the doctor is not in the office today but left a message to tell you yet again that you cannot get another trial pair nor can you get theRx for any of the 3 pairs you tried because 6 months has passed since your I itiaal exam....who knew a 6 months timer had started ticking by even after taking my money and failing to provide service within a time frame acceptable to any person wanting to see clearly.
If I could put -0 I would. I have been going here for over 10 years. My daughter went six months ago with kaylyn Nguyen got a eye glass percriprion and contacts exam. I never received the contact prescription I paid for it but I never received it. They showed me the policy after 6 months if prescription has changed, you need to pay again. Even though I initially never received my first percription I paid for and there is no change in prescription. I will be contacting the medical board and business bureau. Also, I was told I Ruby the front desk receptionist stated the doctor did not want to talk to me. I do not want anything for free just what I paid for.
HORRIBLE !! This place USED to be great until Dr. Tham started working here! I will NEVER come back here and see this doctor! She is EXTREMELY rude, has no patience for kids OR adults, and I am so confused how she is even allowed to work with people! My husband took my daughter in to get contacts and she was so rude, even yelling at my daughter because she was taking too long to put contacts in! (It was her first time and she is 12). My daughter left crying! Her and I returned a couple of days later and I got the same feeling as my daughter did. She is so high strung and you can tell she either hates her job or hates dealing with people. AGAIN, VERY rude, and AGAIN, practically yelling at her on how she "wasn't doing it right". My daughter was getting it in, just not fast enough for her! When I would ask her questions she would not answer them, just avoid the question! Like, seriously??? PLEASE FIRE THIS WOMAN!!! All the other doctors here are good! So if you MUST go here, asked that DR. THAM NOT BE YOUR DOCTOR!! .....Oh, I should add that we waited for an HOUR AND 15 MINUTES TO BE SEEN AND HAD AN APPOINTMENT!
