Dr. Gundersheimer's Eye-do Optical: Jerry Gundersheimer, OD

This review needs to be stated. I've worn contact lenses for years and know what works for my eyes. During my exam, the doctor insisted I switch to astigmatism contacts, despite me clearly explaining that I had already tried them in the past and they did not work for me. After wearing the trial lenses, I contacted the office multiple times to say I could not see properly. Instead of listening and honoring my request to move forward with standard contacts, I was kept in a never-ending trial process for nearly two months--all while repeatedly stating that my vision was impaired. What's most alarming is that my feedback as a patient was consistently ignored. I was not allowed to simply purchase the contacts I requested, even though they are what I've successfully worn for years. When a patient says they cannot see, that should be taken seriously. Here, it wasn't. I ultimately went to another optometrist and had the correct contacts in under a week, at almost half the price I was being quoted here. The rigidity, lack of patient listening, and insistence on a more expensive option that clearly wasn't working was frustrating and concerning. This felt less like patient-centered care and more like being pushed toward a product. If you value being heard, respected, and able to see clearly without weeks of unnecessary delays, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

This is an excellent optometrist office. Everyone was so sweet and worked extra hard to help me with my insurance. I really can't explain what a wonderful experience they made for me.

Rude. I called to schedule an appointment and was laughed at from the start. The staff member, Jerry or whatever her name was since it was hard to tell while she was laughing, responded unprofessionally. The only words I said were, "Hello, I was wondering if you had any availability today," and I was met with prolonged laughter followed by a blunt "no." There was no offer to check availability for another day or week, just more laughing. Very unprofessional.

I had such a positive experience here as a first time patient! The office staff were only ever friendly and were also friendly to one another. Everyone was professional, on task, and seemed happy to be there. Dr. Gundersheimer was pleasant and conversational. He is highly knowledgeable and gladly took the time to answer my questions and concerns. I got treated well and look forward to being a repeat patient. :-)

They were great! My daughter was a little nervous about her first big eye exam, and the whole team was helpful, encouraging, and friendly. Dr. Gundersheimer made the process fun, and we commented about the flamingos in his office, and he gave Elle one on our way out. Made her day, almost as much as being able to see things again! I highly recommend anyone who needs to get glasses, they are worth checking out!

We have been taken our son to Dr. Gundersheimer for 4 years now and today was my daughter's first visit! I just wanna say we have always been treated so nice! We love Dr G he is the best especially with the kids! I would highly recommend him and his staff! Today was my first time to meet Albert and he was great! Very welcoming very friendly I really like him also!! Everyone is great!!

The whole process of an eye exam and glasses selection is flawless at Eye-Do. Dr G. is very thorough and patient. And Albert is the BEST - he always sets aside a pair or two that he knows would look excellent on me. My family highly recommends Eye-Do!

We love Dr Gundersheimer, Albert, Deena and the ladies at the front desk! They are so nice, willing to answer any billing questions, and just make you feel happy when you go in. They helped me understand my insurance and gave me the contact info I needed. Dr. Gundersheimer is the first Eye Dr that helped my daughters get the correct eye prescriptions after trying 4 other Drs! We love his practice! He is also kind, patient, and made my girls feel comfortable while taking wonderful Covid precautions! (N95 mask and face shield!) Albert is just a hoot! He jokes with the girls and makes sure they don't get that lost feeling in the process of getting their glasses. I just cant say enough wonderful things about their practice! Highly recommend!
