Eye Center of Texas - Sugar Land

I was very happy with my cataract evaluation at Eye Center of Texas - Sugar Land. Everyone was so friendly and there was little wait time. Dr Allee was very personable and knowledgeable. He did a great job of explaining my options. I did some research online after my appointment, and his recommendations made total sense. Stephen followed up with me to explain the actual costs of my options. I am having the cataracts in both eyes removed. I am now waiting on a call to schedule my appointments for the two procedures.

Review for Eye Center of Texas - Sugar Land My mother had her first appointment scheduled last week, and the experience was unacceptable from start to finish. I began calling at 8 AM to confirm her appointment time and resolve an insurance verification issue. No one answered the phone, and none of my voicemail messages were returned. This actually started the day before, and still, there has been no follow-up. When we arrived, I asked the front desk staff why no one was answering the phones. Both employees just stared at me with no explanation, no apology, and no accountability. Because no one picked up the phone, the insurance verification wasn't completed, and we walked in blind about her appointment time. After the receptionist finally looked into it, I called the insurance company myself. They confirmed the verification had already been faxed. When I repeated the fax number to her, she told me it went to their Bellaire office and that there was no way they could get it today because that office is "slow with processing." I asked how that made sense if all their locations are part of the same company. I still never received a clear answer as to why a referral sent to their main office couldn't be accessed in their system or forwarded to the location where the patient was actually being seen. This is poor practice management. A medical office should not be unreachable for hours, and basic insurance verification should not fall apart because staff won't answer the phone. The lack of communication, coordination, and accountability is extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, for us, we have to return for a second attempt to attend an appointment. Patients deserve better than this.

Everyone was extremely informative regarding all the different eye tests that were taken. Dr Wade cane in at the very end and shared Details about my eye issues. Although I do have cataracts he said it can wait for surgery at this point. The visit took over 4 hours, that was the only downfall, I wasn't anticipating being there that long, but I'm glad I made it through . Highly recommend this eye center. The staff was amazing . .

Eye center of Texas and I was seen by Dr.Allee. From the time I walked in the front door until I left and I saw numerous staff, everyone was friendly and professional. I felt cared for with all my questions answered and my fears alleviated. One of the best medical experiences I've had. If you have any eye concerns, you can make an appointment here with confidence.

I'm so glad I chose eye care from the Eye Center of Texas in Sugar Land! From making the appointments to receiving care and follow-up, I was impressed with the professional care and kind considerate staff. By the end of the visit, I felt like my concerns were heard and addressed. I was treated as a person, not a number. The forms and paperwork can be done online, including uploading the insurance card and ID to prepayment for the visit. The charge is processed after the visit so all I had to do was set up the next appointment. The web site is easy to navigate. The building, parking lot and grounds are clean and well maintained, safe. If you need eye care start here. You will not regret it.

I do NOT understand when reading all these reviews how anyone can give this Center a five star review. This is the worst experience I have at this Eye Center. Not just today but everytime i come here since my first visit Jan 2025. every time I come in. I have to wait 30 minutes before I am called in. Appt at 10:45 i'm not called until 11:20. once inside the tech does eye tests. All these takes less than 10 minutes then I have to wait again another 30 to 40 minutes before the doctor comes to you. I signed up with Dr Wade. I only saw him once the entire year of 2025 at my first appt. He's always busy in surgery. Then why i'm not told when appt is made ?? Then im seen by some new Trainee doctor. who is always super awesome with an upbeat attitude and personality Nothing against them but im not returning here again. Today was my last straw. Appt 1045. i got in 10:30. I Wasn't called until 11:20. Tests were done and I was left sitting waiting for Doctor at 11:30. I left 12:05. Doctor never showed up. Good luck the rest of you. There are other much better eye doctor in Sugar land like Texas Eye Institute or at Methodist and Herman Hospital.

I regret getting light adjustable lenses. I had one adjustment and my vision was good, then the lock in changed my vision. I now need a prescription for reading and distance. Very disappointing as LALs are a huge out of pocket investment.

Very helpful desk clerk and staff. I was seen very quickly and barely had any wait times. The staff themselves have always been kind and helpful plus informative. The doctor also was very good. I'm always taken care of
