Medical Error, Front Desk Issues, Attitude:
I returned because my prescription was blurry. Dr. Rudd responded in a raised, dismissive tone instead of listening.
*Another provider later confirmed that an essential measurement had been overlooked, which was the actual cause of the problem.
Front desk mixed up my appointment and initially refused to see me even though I was there for my scheduled visit.
After it became clear I'm not local, the way he treated me noticeably changed to hostility and disrespect.
Between the medical error and the attitude I received, I would not recommend Dr. Rudd!
I was in the market for a new eye doctor had a horrible experience at another doctor office so my insurance recommended Dr. Pace. As soon as I walked in I was impressed it's immaculate. The staff is very friendly and welcoming ..I was feeling kind of anxious and then walked in Dr. Pace, immediately he put me at ease he's very personable professional and very thorough. Took the time to answer all my questions. He's very easy to converse with has excellent bedside manner. I would highly recommend him to family and
friends. On my way out, I was informed that he took the practice over from his father and his partner was his brother-in-law. I went. Oh it all makes sense now why you get the feeling of family.
I've been a patient at the Bountiful Family Clinic since 1969. I've never had a bad experience with anyone there. Great Quality products to choose from, expertise by the the Dr is by far the best you'll find. They care about you unlike other offices where you're just a number to them. Easy scheduling- follow ups- and quick return of my Glasses.
Thank you Dr Pace, Dr Rudd and all office personnel!
Been seeing Dr Rudd here now for approx 2 years now. My prescription recently changed and Dr Rudd informed me of my new prescription. Made recommendations on a progressive lens and help me find contacts that fit my astigmatism perfectly.
After picking up my new lenses my one eye felt a little off. I wore the glasses for about a week to see if maybe it was me getting used to the new prescription. It kept bothering me so I decided to call the office and see about getting it rechecked. They were able to get me in a few days. Dr Rudd did another quick eye exam and made an adjustment to my prescription. My new lenses are now perfect!!
He was very kind even though I thought I was going crazy.
I definitely recommend Dr Rudd to anyone seeking a professional, informative, in kind doctor for their eyes
Horrible experience!
Incompetent front desk staff cannot even schedule one appointment correctly.
My eyeglasses were completely blurry, so I needed the doctor to recheck my prescription.
Doctor Rudd yelled (without exaggeration) at me and said everything was fine, I just need to adjust!
It's a good thing he's not the only doctor in town. The other doctor corrected HIS MISTAKE (wrong axis) and oh miracle! Finally, I was able to see!!!
The service was absolutely disgusting! Kinda got the impression it's because I'm not a white, mormon fellow or something..
The license of Dr. Rudd should be revoked!
There's something good about that place as well. They do have up-to-date equipment +++
I was a first time patient (4/28/25) but never saw the Dr as the preceptor didn't introduce herself, didn't introduce her colleague (trainee), didn't welcome me to the practice, failed to inform me that her colleague was a trainee, failed to inquiry whether I as the patient was comfortable with a trainee, etc but instead focused on training her colleague with basic computer data entry (multiple failed attempts), instructed the trainee to perform preliminary eye measurements using equipment placed near my eyes (multiple failed readings), etc.
I ultimately got up and stated that I was uncomfortable with the process and that it was unprofessional. It appeared that the trainee was not provided adequate advance training and was being trained on the fly without patient notice nor acknowledgement and consent.
The preceptor responded by stating that everything was fine because she was monitoring the trainee. The real question is who is monitoring the preceptor because the Optometrist informed my wife (a career RN health care professional who trained countless nurses and always informed patients when a trainee was involved in the equation to obtain patient acknowledgement and consent) that office protocols were followed.
It's unfortunate when second generational businesses lose's sight of professional etiquette. Apparently they would prefer that new patients be utilized as trainee subjects instead of utilizing their own family members, staff or friends.
No Thank You
My wife and I both just went to Dr. Adam Rudd for eye exams. Their office is very professional, very thorough, and has been taking great care of my family for years. It is so nice to get new glasses, but especially when you have a doctor that is personable and in-depth. Thanks!
My husband and I are very pleased with Dr. Rudd and his staff. They are professional and personable. We appreciate their honest and no-pressure recommendations. We received our prescription for glasses without having to ask for it (unlike prior providers). We could have gone anywhere to buy the glasses but decided to give them the business as integrity needs to be rewarded. Keep up the good work.
