Great doctor, but seriously, get your scheduling together. First time, I waited over 30 minutes. Now a year later, they switch me from 4:40 to 4:20 because someone cancelled. I agree to come in early to help them out. I get here early, now waiting over 30 minutes AGAIN, and another person waiting says their appointment was at 4:00! So he's been waiting almost an hour! If you're that far behind, freaking call people and tell them to come in later.

This place has been so wonderful. I got a corneal laceration at work. Which I hurt it way bad and at first I couldn't see anything. Like all blurry and doubled which after going here. Doctor Hess did his magic and I now can see 20/20 which is amazing! Because even the doctor was skeptical with how bad the tear was, that I'd see even 20/40 or worse! So yah this place is amazing. Also, at work I got a piece of metal in the same eye. Three weeks later and, I was pretty upset and wondering if maybe I'd gone and messed up the progress I've had with healing. But that day I was able to get into there office in minutes of arriving at the practice which I felt like I mattered. So I hope anyone that has anything maybe wrong with and eye or both to get in here. I sure glad I did.

I really needed some type of treatment for my eye. I had a bubble on it and it was very bothersome. I've had a long history of not being treated correctly for my eyes. He told me I was my own worst enemy and to put as hot of compresesses I can stand on my eyes twice a day for the rest of my life and to back off on the preservative free eye drops. I had already been doing warm compresses that don't seem to help and my meibomian glands are plugged so I need artificial tears as much as I need them. The bubble had spread out by the time I saw him and he acted as if I never had it. It was back the next day. The Hot compresses were doing more damage and causing more pain to my eyes. I tried cutting back on eye drops but really needed them especially after hot compresses. Saw another Doctor and they treated me with prednisolone drops for a week for the conjunctival cyst, said my eye drops were fine and suggested punctal plugs to hold my tears in my eyes because my lipids (oils) are lacking in my tears and to use warm compresses. All this should make me more comfortable. I do not recommend him.

I have been seeing Dr. Hess for the past 12 years. He has always been extremely professional and informative. Listens to your questions and concerns. He is very good at taking the time necessary to explain the process or current and ongoing conditions. I decided recently to go for LASIK and let me tell you what an amazing experience from Dr Hess to the staff. They really helped me feel at ease and understanding all of the details and what to expect before and after. I am only 3 days removed from the procedure and my eyesight is great. I would recommend Insight to anyone whether it's for routine checkups to acute eye conditions needing special care.
