Standard Optical - Tooele Eye Doctor

Contacts never received last January 1/25. Tried to get in contact with someone in regard to refund on product. $375 down the drain not a penny returned over a year later. They sent a receipt stating a check would be sent in and a refund would be returned within two weeks. People stopped answering phones. Heard they were looking at lawsuit and had to shut down business.

Im not sure how this company has even a 4 star review. I honestly feel like they would have to pay people for fake reviews. I paid a high price for my glasses and was even given a warranty which they did honor. However when my glasses were scratched and I was unable to use them Standard Optical told me that they were signing a new contract with a new company and to call back in two weeks. This was 3 months ago now. When I called back they said to give them two more weeks and then again at the end of that two weeks. Finally they said I could order them but it may take 4-5 months. Now when I call they dont even answer. The only way i am able to talk to them is by showing up in person. I AM NOT SATISFIED AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO MY WORST ENEMY.

Tried calling. Phone didn't go through. Went during "open" hours. The door was locked and no one was inside. The writing on the glass is fading to the point you can't read it. I guess they closed and didn't inform anyone?

Staff was friendly at first, but then they started avoiding my calls. I waited over thirty business days and 40 PLUS days, never got an update and I had to have someone else call for me, because they were actively avoiding my calls, texts, and emails, they got through on the first ring and THEN I got a call, only to be told they had zero idea when I was going to get my order (something about their lab's machines were down) and they had "never gotten my calls." I went to Americas Best and got my glasses after four business days. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I did get a full refund upon request.

If there was a way to give zero stars I would. Not only have they gotten prescription wrong 3 times with 3 different eye exams but now the most recent time after a 20 week waiting period for glasses(initially 10 day waiting period we were told) now they didn't put in the coatings we paid extra for. So now they want to do yet ANOTHER eye exam and make us wait another 16 weeks for glasses because of THEIR screw up. I demanded a refund due to their negligence met with argument because they've done the prescription twice (due to THEIR mistakes) now we are 600$ into glasses that are not the correct prescription nor the correct product we paid for and they have the audacity to tell us they can't refund us and want us to do yet another eye exam. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with and zero responsibility from the staff on their mistakes with customer blaming. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to get glasses here. Do better standard optical. Do better. And the women working inside the office not only made my wife feel terrible about asking for a refund but promised her a refund on the phone if her ordered was screwed up, the women at the front desk patronized her by telling the district manager "now her husband is making her get a refund" while telling an incorrect story timeline to their manager. I see other people getting refunds who have been dealing with less. I don't know how this place is still in business.

Staff are friendly, however the service is terrible in regards to cost and timeliness. I had an exam in November, took over three weeks to get my glasses and the prescription was wrong. After having to have another eye exam and weeks of waiting, I am still waiting for my second pair of glasses which were my frames, just a simple lens replacement. It's now been six weeks, they don't know when my glasses will be in and offered a "possible" in-store credit. So after $800 for two pair of glasses, one in which the frames were already mine, I have one pair with a somewhat corrected prescription and have no idea when I'll get my frames or money back. Do not recommend.

******Changing Review from 4 to 1 star 1/14/2021 My original purchase was on December 19 2020, and I expressed my concern at the time in turning over my glasses to have the lenses replaced as my insurance only covers frames every other year. I was worried that I would be without my only pair of glasses for a month or more and Standard Optical in Tooele, Utah assured me that it would be at most 3 weeks, but to expect a 2-3 week turnaround. At about 2.5 weeks I had not heard anything back yet so I called in. Upon calling in Andrea told me that they were on back order and there wasn't an update, so she would put a rush on the glasses so that at the latest that by 1/9 they should have them in the office. We contacted them again as of today and Emily just informed me that they are in transit and that they should be in office either tomorrow or Monday. Upon further explaining I would like a refund if not here on Monday, Emily made excuses explaining that the 2-3 weeks is only an estimate. There was absolutely NO responsibility for this Standard Optical is responsible to update their customers in the event of a delay and it should not take leg work on people who have paid for the service. I truly would like Standard Optical as a whole to make this right. I have had to take off two days from work (I am at a loss of because the migraines associated to not wearing my glasses are unbearable and driving and viewing a computer screen for long periods of time are a true hardship. I DO NOT recommend Standard Optical in Tooele to anyone and probably will be taking my business elsewhere even if it is 25+ miles away as I have never had these problems with any other company than Standard optical *****Prior review 4 of 5 stars Very clean and safe during this pandemic. Only thing that didn't give them a perfect rating is that the associate tried talking me out of using my 2020 vision benefits because in 2 months I am eligible for getting frames for 2021. Whole point was to replace my lenses this year covered by my insurance and get a full new set next year so I had two current sets with the correct prescription. Be aware .... stand your ground as you are entitled to use your benefits as you and your employer paid for them

Everyone here is nice and friendly but u was told that waiting time for glasses was 2 weeks then did not get them for almost 5 weeks. They when glasses were done they waited several days to ship glasses when they were done then proceeded to give the wrong tracking number for them. Please work on communicating with each other and customers. It's now been almost 2 months.
