Yesterday I had my annual eye exam with Dr. Amy Gregory. I felt that both her staff who took the images of my eyes, and Dr. Gregory's examination of those images, and examination of my eyes, and referring to my past history, was very professionally thorough. And the good news, my eyes are doing fine! I highly recommend Eye Care Associates and Dr. Gregory,

Dr. Gregory recently performed cataract surgery on my right eye. My cataract developed unusually rapidly, and gave me considerable cause for concern since I make my living as an airline pilot. I knew I needed the best care possible, and needed to get this corrected as soon as possible. Dr. Gregory was able to fit me into her surgical schedule very quickly and help me navigate all the necessary paperwork needed for my job. She is incredibly compassionate and efficient, putting my mind at ease prior to my surgery. Having never undergone any type of surgery on my eyes, I was understandably nervous the morning of my procedure. Dr. Gregory met me in the prep room and immediately made me feel like there was nothing to worry about. When I was brought into the OR, the whole procedure seemed to only last about 10 minutes. There was absolutely no pain or discomfort of any kind. I really don't remember anything except walking in, and then soon after a voice (probably Dr. Gregory's) calmly saying "you're all done, Tom". From the time I arrived at Porter Hospital to the time I was back home recovering was less than 90 minutes total. Dr. Gregory is an extremely skilled surgeon with a fantastic bedside manner. Post op, I had the usual scratchiness feeling in my eye, but no pain. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that my vision was markedly improved! Colors and details were sharper, and the vision in my right eye has gone back to 20/20 without needing my glasses. I do want to mention that cataract surgery is not a guaranteed cure for nearsightedness, but in my particular case, I am elated to find that to be true. I would highly recommend Dr. Amy Gregory, and the entire staff at Eye Care Associates to anyone seeking the best eye care.
