Doctor Shiple has performed three procedures for me. I think he's great. I feel lucky to have been referred to him. He has always demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and a willingness to listen. He has a wonderful team who are very attentive and capable.
I know the patient/physician relationship is different with each person, but honestly, with the positive experiences I've had, I can't understand a few of these negative reviews. I have decades of customer service experience. I've had my share of demanding situations. I'm not saying it's the case here, but I do feel there are those for whom one just can't come to terms with. This is a highly specialized field, which presents the possibility of varying outcomes. I'm not sure some patients truly accept that. Experiences are influenced by all parties involved and can never be attributed to one person. Nothing I have personally experienced can remotely resemble some of the poorer reviews.

The staff is very efficient and friendly. I felt very comfortable going forward with the surgery. Every detail was explained. They even sent a link regarding the actual surgery so I could actual see what happened during surgery. After surgery, my next day appointment again was very well done. Again they explained what my role was in the following weeks, and the appointment was handled with precision. They called awhile after surgery to see how I was doing, which made me feel even more secure.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Shiple. He is friendly, happy and a fine doctor. The surgery was done with excellence, and I was very comfortable with the whole process. I would surely recommend him to any friend who was needing an eye surgeon. All I can say is "thank you" to everyone at the Opthalmic Consultants of Vermont.

Dr. Shiple is an extremely competent surgeon. My cataract surgery went very well. His team and the team at the surgical center are very focused, knowledgeable and skilled. Not only is Dr. Shiple competent, he is a very kind individual. He explained the procedure and answered my questions with great clarity. I would not hesitate to use his services again.
