On March 4, 2026 I went to Shippee Family Eye Care in St Johnsbury and saw Karena Shippee for the first time. I was very impressed not only with the equipment she had available & how expertly she used it but also with her sensitive, kind & caring & supportive manner, her diligence & thoroughness, her intelligence and expertise. I highly recommend not only Dr Karena Shippee but also the rest of the staff that I interacted with! They too were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful and thorough! Went for my annual check up, it doesn't matter if it's a new patient or an annual appointment I was greeted by a smile and seen in a timely manner. My eye doctor was professional while upbeat and cheerful, asking all the right questions. She was very dedicated with the testing and then sending me home with a sample to try. It takes a long time to find the best!!

Amazing experience with the removal of my cataracts by Shippee Eye Care. Done right at the clinic with no prep! The procedure was quick and comfortable with everyone pleasant and reassuring. I'm very squeamish about anything to do with my eyes - even hate eye drops, and evidently that's pretty normal since the entire environment was arranged to calm and relax patients from sitting in a massage chair to chill music and calming ocean views on the large monitor - everything so well planned to make me as calm as possible - excellent care. And what an improvement in my eyesight now just 2 days later - colors and clarity! Highly recommend Shippee!

I was TERRIFIED at the thought of getting my cataract surgery. I just had it done with Dr. Overturf and I gotta gush about the staff at their surgical suite. . They took my anxiety VERY seriously and I was skeptical, needlessly, I must say. I was so comfortable and relaxed that it seemed like it only took 10 minutes. And my world looks a WHOLE LOT BETTER. I can't wait to get the next one done. I highly recommend them. What a positive experience.

Shippee Family Eye Care really helped me A LOT during an emergency in which I forgot my contacts and was 7 hours from home with no access to my eye care. I cannot express how much I appreciate how they helped me as they didnt have to do that and had no financial gain from helping a complete stranger on their vacation. They really extended help to me out of the goodness of their hearts. If I lived local, I would utilize them as my primary eye care doctor. They were so kind, understanding, and generous today. I hope they see this and know how much I appreciate what they did for me.
