As a long time resident of McLane of 36 years I'm very highly impressed with the Doctor Patel and the vision center in Arlington hospital center very professional staff state of the art made in Germany instruments to measure the eyes, vision and two diagnose I did Park downstairs easy parking parking was only $7 for the entire day and I'm local McLean residence since 1989 thank you for the great service
I've been going here for years now. Dr. Patel is top tier and really knows her stuff. She has an easy going bedside manner and happy and positive personality. The office is clean, efficiently run with a polite staff. A huge plus is they offer really early morning appointments.
My husband was a patient of this practice for years, mainly to monitor his glaucoma. However, the practice seems to have changed. Today, he had enough and told the manager that he won't be back. Every time my husband had an appointment, he waited 1.75-2.5 (or more) hours for a brief pre- exam by a medical tech, and then a rushed exam by the doctor when she finally managed to see him. That means we spent more time sitting in the very crowded waiting room just waiting for his name to be called than with a professional. If an emergency arises that pushes back appointment times, then we're willing to wait. However, the staff never offers an explanation. When I explained to one of the receptionists that I was not happy with the wait time, she didn't take her eyes off her computer when she talked with me. We don't feel the staff or my husband's doctor cares anymore. Perhaps the practice overbooks appointments these days and then scurries to keep up. Whatever it is, there isn't any excuse for waiting as long as we have every single visit for what ends up as a less than 10-minute exam by the doctor. We see many doctors who treat patients with respect and have respect for their time. I'm sure we'll find another ophthalmologist who feels the same way.
As a first-time patient, I was impressed with the thoroughness of the eye examination. Then walked in Dr. Patel who raised the standards even higher. She was personal and knowledgeable, a good recipe for a first visit. I felt comfortable in her skills as I had a severe infection in both eyes.
As for the staff, they were friendly, helpful, and organized. My wait time was within 10 minutes. The waiting room was clean and quiet.
I highly encourage you to visit this center.
Dr. Shazia Ahmed literally saved my mom's vision. My mom had gone to several eye specialists in Indiana and Maryland (John's Hopkins). None could pinpoint the exact cause of her vision loss but Dr. Ahmed hung in there with my mom, got her on preservative free eyedrops, blood drawn eye drops, eye wipes, and gave her a healthy eye regimen! The results have been amazing! She single-handedly restored mom's vision and that is no exaggeration. The result? My entire family has now transferred to her practice! She has been a godsend!
I was having severe left eye discomfort and was able to get an appt the next day. Super friendly staff on the phone and in person. Saw Dr Patel and she's amazing. Very thorough and explained ocular rosacea carefully, especially on options and meds. I chose the more aggressive option Woke up the next day and no discomfort.
Dr. Patel is an excellent Ophthalmologist! She is smart, considerate, and progressive in her treatment plans. She and the entire staff at the Arlington Eye Center are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. I have lived in Orlando, FL for 5 years now and have kept Dr.Patel as my doctor. The scheduling team always bends over backwards to meet my needs when I travel into town for my appointments!
Dr. Hemad is very awesome. The front office is not friendly and professional at all. I was waiting 30mins past my appointment time no one was there to update me why it takes so long , anyhow my experience was not pleasant.
