I went to see Dr Kartesz for an eye exam. From check in to check out the staff was very helpful and professional. Dr Kartesz was excellent in his diagnosis. The Electric Road location is a great example of a team working together. Beautiful selection of frames to choose from.

Went to a new eye doctor on Friday and he confirmed what I believed happened last time I saw Dr Kartesz. I saw Dr Kartesz in Sep 2010 and purchased new eyeglasses. My vision was fine but went for routine exam in Sep 2012. I somehow felt like my responses were being prompted during exam. He told me my prescription had changed and I needed new eyeglasses. I was shocked because I was not having problems with prescription I was wearing but felt pressured and ordered new glasses anyway. Experience made me not want to even see an eye doctor again until this past week. I have been wearing the eyeglasses from 2010 for past couple of years but took glasses from 2010 and 2012 with me to exam. And guess what!!! Dr said my exam showed my prescription is nearly identical to 2010 exam.and that the 2012 glasses were way too strong. I would not even give 1 star except not possible to activate post option without marking stars

Kartesz Optometrist on Rt 419 (Cave Spring area). I had my eyes examined in Jan 2017 and using my AARP Medicare Advantage insurance, I paid only a small co-pay. The eye examinations were very thorough and Dr. Allen OD and the assisting technicians were excellent. Later I took some time to look over their selection of name brand frames and came back in a few days with my wife and my motorcycle helmets to see which ones would fit with my helmets on. My wife really like several frames so I picked a very cool frame from Ralph Lauren. Since I live in Virginia, there is no Medicare Advantage program available in the state that covers eyeglasses, so I would have to pay for those out-of-pocket (unless I had a separate private eyeglasses policy). So I ordered a pair of "distance" eyeglasses and waited about 10 days for their arrival. Thanks to Cassie for patiently helping me and my wife pick out the perfect frames. When I tried on my new glasses for the first time, I was amazed how much better I could see - I could now easily read printed signs 30 feet (or 300 feet) away that heretofore had been kinda blurry. All details very now perfectly clear, the glasses are lightweight, crystal clear and really comfortable and I have received many compliments from family and friends. Wow. 5 stars for Kartesz Optical.

Disclaimer: I have never been to this eye care center, and therefore cannot give a just review of their services. My review is based solely on their advertising and nothing more. If you have ever been to a Salem Red Sox game, you hear their ad every third or fourth foul ball; the premise of it being if you couldn't see the foul ball, you should call Kartezs eye care. If you've been to just one game, it's kind of annoying. If you've been to multiple, it's obnoxious. They are spending money on what's likely not only a futile campaign, but probably a detrimental one.

Great place. After being frustrated with my glasses Dr. Woods took the time to actually sit down and pinpoint my problem. Couldn't be happier. You guys are the best.

Extremely deceitful about pricing. Nurses assured incorrectly multiple times about charges. Very unprofessional.

Beware of being misled concerning the charges for your office visit. AARP members stay away!!!
