I injured my eye and called the SML office. Dr Ali and her staff worked me in that very day and she assessed the damage to include a small laceration and hemorrhage. She gave me Rx meds, saw me back in a few days to add another, and then a final visit to be released. Dr Ali explained everything thoroughly and understandably from start to finish and I could not be more pleased.

I have used Vistar for 10 years. Dr Ali has always taken the time, whether for yearly exam or other appointments, necessary. She listens to my questions, giving recommendations base on her experience. I have not had negative experiences with staff. I have purchased glasses from Vistar, as well as other providers, and haven't felt pressure from staff. I will continue with Vistar.

came back to Vistar as I've been a customer since a child. scheduled an appointment as soon as I could with their Franklin Rd office and filed a request for a weekend appointment, as I work during the week. never got a reply about rescheduling, was told I needed to be seen again ASAP as my eye was bleeding internally. had to schedule with a different doctor for January at a different office due to schedule differences. today, I received a letter by snail mail that my appointment was changed to MARCH, an additional two months, as "Dr Ali had a schedule change". never received a call confirming if this new day or time works for me (it doesn't) and I'm unsure why a doctor's office would casually push an appointment back two months when this felt more serious. i've rearranged my schedule twice now and their offices never seem to care. save your money and take a virtual eye exam, you'll get the same results.

I have been a customer for >15 yrs. This included eye exams each year, purchase of glasses always through vistar, and eye surgery. As of September 2025, I am leaving Vistar as I cannot continue to tolerate the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the receptionists. All of the doctors are great, but the office management is the worst I have experienced in any medical office. In Sept 2025 after waiting outside in the rain for my appt, as the office locks patients outside during their lunch break, I witnessed an elderly man, obviously frightened by seeing blind spots and desperately wanting to see a doctor, told loudly and rudely to "sit down" by receptionist. Receptionist then stated my entire social security number loudly for all in the office to hear, then proceeds to state my 'insurance' is 'just a discount plan and not real insurance, and would not save me much money' then proceeded to loudly complain so all in the office could hear, 'how much would I spend today, did I need glasses'. I did not ask for the receptionist's opinion of my coverage plan, or what i planned to spend or to have my personal info broadcasted to multiple people in the office area. The unprofessionalism and rudeness was deeply unsettling, as well as the abuse towards the elderly man in line in front of me (who was also waiting in the rain while the office was locked for lunch break) . I left without taking my appointment, as I was deeply disgusted and disturbed, and as such, requesting they give my appt to the frightened elderly man in front of me. Vistar, please respect and value your customers as people. I am so disturbed by your office employees behaviors that my myself and family have found alternate coverage.

I love Dr Ali, she has always been professional and has kept all my eye issues in check. She has never rushed with my visits, has a great "bedside manner " . I have just read some of these other reviews about her and I truly do not understand them at all. Dr Ali has never been any of those things with me. She is a truly caring and compassionate about her field of study. I have several things going on with my eyes and she has always done an amazing job with me. If you have an issue with anything all you have to do is reach out to her office and they will deal with it. Hope this helps with any questions anyone may have.

I just left the office without being seen. I had made an appointment a few weeks ago for today, November 20 at 10:30. When I arrived and told the young girl at the desk my name she said you don't have an appointment and you haven't been seen since 2023. She was rude and unhelpful. Obviously, whoever made the appointment did not put it in the system. She made no attempt to reschedule or apologize for the mix-up. Based on other reviews this is their normal. I did like Dr. Ali but I will not return. I also had to have glasses adjusted several times in the past and felt that person was also rude and unhelpful. I never could wear those glasses as they gave me a headache.

Called and made an appointment at Vistar eye center at Westlake. They made it for 12/21. Called me to move me I said actually, I need this appointment in January, I have two, one for me, one for my son. Apparently, they moved just me when I got a reminder for his appointment. So I called back to make sure we could both be seen the same day and that I had two appointments. I made the appointment for 1 for me, 1:45 for him. I wait in my car for 25 min because they LOCK the doors for lunch. Walk in at 1 for my appointment at 1. Finally get through to the registration. They tell me my son has an appointment APRIL 3RD. They "can't help me" or "I can sit here and wait". I said no thanks. Bye. Cancel both appointments. They lost a family of patients. Vistar Eye Center Vistar Eye Center not only was your staff rude, but they're also incompetent. Absolutely ridiculous what is happening in "healthcare".

They added health related things to my chart that weren't true (nor assessed/asked about). I had ask them to rectify, to remove it, so i'd have an accurate chart. The majority of the staff are snappy and rude (Brittany is the only one who provides good customer service). Just went there again today to fit my contacts, got same rude attitude. I suggest looking at the recent reviews about how customers felt and the rude attitudes that others have experienced dealing with Vistar staff and judge if you still want to pay money to be treated in that manner.
