**Update: I did eventually get the glasses, and they work great! It just took 41/2 months.** Hurts to give 2* because he's a nice guy and great at the optometry part. Any other staff I met also seemed totally personable and honest. However, they're just not organized. Doc S. said it'd be a week, maybe 2, to get new glasses, and that was August. They do answer when I contact, and explain how some part of the process went wrong every time, but it's been over 2 months and no dice. I'm not all that mad because it was all covered by my insurance, but if you expect to have to pay anything yourself, then I'd recommend not paying until you have everything you came for. The forms you have to sign might not allow that, in which case you should probably go somewhere else. Dr. S. seemed pretty upset and apologetic for the fact that things are not running smoothly, but I don't know if that's translating into any improvement. He needs an agent or an expert no-nonsense secretary or something. Someone who can actually turn the gears while he just focuses on good optometry. ~~I'll update this if I ever do get the glasses I was prescribed, but I don't think it'll increase my rating.~~ Update at the top.

This is by far the worst office I have ever been to for anything. While the Dr himself is very personable his staff is horrible. The office is so unkempt that there are stacks of glasses sitting there waiting for people to be called and stacks of prescriptions ready to be sent out. I saw this personally when I went there questioning about my glasses. Since his staff hadn't bothered to come in he went searching through everything to see if mine might be in that mess. It has been over 3 months and I still don't have my glasses. I sent my own Bebe frames now all I am asking is get my frames back and I will go elsewhere. Now they tell me they don't kn where they are. Don't go there if you are in need of your glasses in a fashionable amount of time. I would never go there again and most certainly would never recommend this place.

This is practically the only practice that takes my daughter Anthem Health keepers Plus (Medicaid) insurance. I had no other option to order my daughter's prescription for eye glasses here. It's been 7 weeks now since the day we picked out the frame and left the prescription with them. We were told that it would take no longer then 3 weeks, but they would definitely be in no later then a month. We have called several times and gone in person to check on the delivery and are disappointed each time with no definite answer as to when they would be in. The office staff is extremely sweet and the doctor is your topical small town country doctor. However there is absolutely no organization in their office and lack of common courtesy to following up with their customers with a respectable answer and reason is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.

Dr Schlabach is amazing, but his office staff is horrible! It's been 3 months waiting for a pair of glasses for both of my kids. I finally ordered them online and got them because I couldn't get his staff follow through. They kept giving me lame excuses because I don't think they have any idea what they are doing. This place would be fine for a checkup, but do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to get your glasses. It will save you some headaches!

I have been a patient here since around 2005. I always really like the quality and care that I got here. However over the past year I have no idea what has happened to this practice. I have been literally trying to get a hold of these people since before Christmas of 2021. Literally almost a year ago. Every time you call this place the phone rings and rings and rings and rings and no one answers. I did however get a hold of the doctor about 3 weeks ago and he said that his secretary was out of the office. If I call back around 1:30 or 2:00 she would set me up with an appointment. Well here we are almost a month later and I have still not reached anyone. It's pretty baffling to say the least. If this is how he's going to run his practice he needs to retire.

I would get second opinion because he said my daughter and I both needed glasses. I went for second opinion because my eyes seemed fine. Sure enough nothing wrong with either one of us. Plus the glasses he prescribed for my daughter was clear with no magnifying on them. So it was like she was wearing fake glasses anyway. He just wants your money!!! He was nice though

I wish there were more stars to give Dr. Schlabach (Dr. S) and Anita! Having worn glasses since I was a toddler, I've seen my share of Optometrists. Dr. S is hands down the best doctor I have seen to date. My regret is not finding this amazing duo sooner. During my exam, Dr. S caught a serious error in my prescription. Somewhere down the road in my past, someone made an error in my rx. And each year since then, whomever I have seen has just left it like that. Dr. S corrected my prescription, and for the first time in years I can actually see out of my glasses. Tbh, things have been blurry for so long that it had become normal to me. I thought there was nothing to be done for my sight. As if the life-changing exam and interesting, intelligent conversation wasn't enough, when finished I was treated to the expertise of the lovely Ms. Anita! She took one look at the glasses I walked in with and went to work. Result? I love what she selected for me as does my husband! Regarding price, Ms. Anita only stocks affordable frames. And her selection was very nice. Something for everyone. If you need an eye exam, Dr. Schlabach is highly recommended. You will not regret this visit!

I don't understand what's the hold up. Not like you get your contacts made in China. It's not like shipping is the problem. Why do I have to wait so long for a call back. The clients have to call themselves to get any sort of answer. That's not right. Hands down do not recommend this place.
