I had an appointment today. I decided to check out the reviews this evening and am wondering if I visited the same place. Everyone was so kind. The reception was nice. The doctor and tech were both also very nice and informative. And the lady that did my glasses prescription was nice. I had a great experience.
My glasses broke after 2 weeks of having them so I tried gluing them til I made it to the office. Turns out it voids the warrenty. Feeling disappointed.
Had a routine appointment set. During eye examination I was asked about hazy vision, NO! I was asked about double vision, NO!! I was asked if I had issues at night!! NO !! I was asked about difficulty seeing! None other then the same need for corrective vision. I was told during exam, I may have cataracts! But, she would not say anything to dr. She would let him decide. LOL ! I heard her tell the dr. he then came in an recommended surgery! I made appointment! When I returned home I did some research. Cataracts are present in most over 60.. I fit that .. But, was repeated on EVERY site I visited. Most that have cataracts never have surgery. AND is only recommended if it interferes with any aspects of your life... NONE!! I guess they saw INSURANCE and figured on a cash grab.. Mercenaries NOT looking out for the client!! I'll NEVER go back !!
The receptionist was nice, I only waited about 2 minutes. Got back there quick, exam went by quickly.
The downside tho, was when they put the drops in your eyes to test for glaucoma and cataracts. ( And u have to wait 15 min)
I told them I had to drive after, she said it was fine.
I had the contacts they gave me to put in, they dilated my eyes, could no longer see anything up close, everything super blurry, for hours after!
I had to drive an hour home and it was very uncomfortable.
When I took the contacts out and put my glasses back on I could see up close again, I'm nearsighted )
Apparently Eyeone does a glacoma test at every eye exam.
I had to sign paperwork after the eye exam and I have no clue what I signed!
It was all a bit frustrating,
Aside from that everybody was very nice and the exam would have gone under 30 minutes if it wasn't for getting my eyes dilated, which I will absolutely skip next time and every time after.
( I have no issues with eyes, no family history and I'm under 50, exam was not needed)
I had a co-pay that when I initially called about they said my insurance would cover all of it, so that's a little bit confusing as well but I guess it happens.
I called this morning to ask for my son's visit notes be sent over to another office and I had a great experience on the phone. I did not get her name but she was so friendly and compassionate - I even called back to ask for her name and ended up speaking with the office manager, she too was so friendly!
Thank you for all that you are doing at this office, you all are doing a great job !!! I've worked in healthcare for 10 years now and we need more offices like you !!
I'd give them a 0 if possible! After patiently waiting over 6 months for their first available appointment for cataract surgery, they screwed up appointment times several times. They send you back and forth from one office in Fishersville to have you go to the Lexington office the very next day. Why on Earth can't they do it all in one day at one office; instead you have to take two days of work off. And then, show up for the appointment wherein THEIR PERSON had written down the appointment and time on their schedule sheet, and they said it was the wrong time. The gal at that office gets confused as to what eye it is, and wrote down wrong info! Then it gets worse, they then because of a "miscommunication between the offices" gave the surgery slot away to another person!! What the heck!!! So now it is several more months wait. Unbelievable. The lack of organization and communication is terrible. God only hopes that they do a better job with the surgery b/c at this rate, you'll go blind! I've heard there are excellent places to go in Roanoke and Charlottesville, and totally regret not going there, but thought going locally in Lexington would be good. And now, since some of it is already done, not going to start over, but geez, this has been nothing but awful!! The staff are pleasant, but the business itself is terrible and it certainly does make one worry about one's eyecare which is so precious.
Doctor Harrison is a very smart man. You will get the attention your eyes need and deserve. He is well educated and thorough. His staff is pleasant and friendly. Clean office with most resources in house. With or without insurance I'd recommend his practice if you want top quality care at a competitive price.
I have diabetes, the start of cataracts, and suffered from dry eye. Dr. Harrison addressed my problems and is great at explaining you issues and giving advice. He asks is you have any concerns or questions. The staff is professional and very good at their jobs. They are a great team.
