A learning experience information on the eye given by the Doctor refreshing. I gave 5 stars my friends and family love coming to Vision Health Center.
Very Dissatisfied!
My husband recently saw Dr. McGuire for pain in his eye. He felt something was in his eye and scheduled an appointment to be seen. An eye exam was performed and the conclusion was a small cut on the inner corner of his eye, as well as redness. (Dr. Suggested possibly pink eye)
His pain worsened and in less than 24 hours later he was seen at a walk in appointment at his Primary Care office. The Nurse Practitioner took one look at him and within seconds diagnosed him with Shingles. He was immediately sent to the ER and then transferred to another ER with an Opthalmologist 2.5 hours later.
We are highly disappointed that his Shingles diagnosis was missed while being examed by Dr. McGuire. Needless to say my husband has had a VERY painful few days.
Dr. McGuire is a fantastic optometrist and I appreciated the service from his staff, one of which is also a doctor. Having been an optician I can attest to the professionalism and knowledge of everyone in this practice, and I've recommended my family to them.
The only issue is I live far away from them now :( None the less, I'll make sure to plan my visits to the area in a way that I can get my eyes checked every year or two. Absolutely recommended!
Very professional and organized! Doctor McGuire is very knowledgeable and is very patient in assisting my needs every time. I had such a hard time with dryness of the eyes and contact fitting, I felt like I was overwhelming him with my discomfort and struggle to get it corrected and he assured me that no matter the length of time it took we were going to get it right and so he did ! What a relief ! We are ever so grateful for such compassionate care that we made him our family Optometrist. Thank you Doctor McGuire , Miss Harmony and the whole gang!
UNPROFESSIONAL and UNCARING Experience at DR. MCGUIRE's Office
This experience deserves "ZERO STARS" but I had to make this selection in order to post my review!
I recently moved to the area and was searching for a new optometrist for my family and me. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. McGuire's office was nothing short of appalling.
I initially spoke with Carrie, who assured me she would verify my insurance and call me back the next day. That conversation happened on a Tuesday. By late Wednesday afternoon, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called the office and left a message with my contact information. Two days passed with no response.
Finally, I called again, and this time, DR. MCGUIRE herself answered the phone. I politely introduced myself, explained the situation, and expressed my concern about not receiving a return call. She insensitively stated that their office is closed on Wednesdays, so Carrie wouldn't have been able to call me back the next day anyway since I spoke with her on Tuesday. My response to that was, Carrie should have known that at the time of our conversation as well.
You'd think that as the doctor responsible for her practice, she would apologize for her staff's lack of follow-through, regardless. Instead, she dismissed my concerns, interrupted me repeatedly, and showed no compassion or accountability.
When I suggested that we back up and start all over again with an acknowledgment or apology for the inconvenience, she doubled down on her dismissive behavior, showing no interest in retaining me as a potential new patient. Her indifference was so blatant that I finally told her that i would kindly take my business elsewhere. Her response? A curt and nonchalant "ok" before hanging up.
Still shocked by this behavior, I called back immediately and spoke with Mr. Livingston, sharing my frustration, in which he just basically listened. I made it clear that I would be informing my insurance company and employer--an influential real estate firm--about the unprofessional treatment I received to ensure others are warned about this office. I thanked him for listening and wished him well.
For a practice that should prioritize patient care and professionalism, this experience was a COMPLETE FAILURE! If you're looking for an optometrist who values their patients and takes responsibility for their practice, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Because it was obvious to me that DR. MCGUIRE could care less!
The old saying "First impressions, are a lasting impression" couldn't be more profound in this instance!
I'm totally disheartened by how this made me feel and in the infamous words of Maya Angelou: I'VE LEARNED THAT PEOPLE WILL FORGET WHAT YOU SAID, PEOPLE WILL FORGET WHAT YOU DID, BUT PEOPLE WILL NEVER FORGET HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL!!!!!!!
Dr.McGuire has always been knowledgeable on eye health and always answers our questions. Myself and my family have been visiting this practice for years as our trusted and preferred optometrist. (Plus, they carry great frames!)
Dr. McGuire and his staff are amazing. I had an eye injury while working on a Friday evening. Not knowing what to do I went to an urgent care. The urgent care basically said their was nothing wrong with my eye. Me knowing something is wrong had to find another opinion. The next morning being a Saturday and me not having insurance. I was worried I wouldn't be able to be seen. We called their office and they got me in right away. Dr McGuire was so knowledgeable and caring. The price was also very affordable.
I purchased a pair of glasses and the prescription was never gotten correct.. even after being sent back four times. After months of trying I asked for a refund and left the glasses with them. They refused to give refunds .. even told my insurance that I paid $386 dollars and never got the glasses. I have pleaded for a refund and they said "we don't give refunds ". That is bad business practice. I don't have the product and they kept my money.
