Like many places, they are trying to move way too fast leaving a patient yearning for proper attention. Multiple calls back to get clarification, corrections to medication, and corrections to referrals. Kaz not available for a quick call after two requests just for me to have proper direction after their referral.
People deserve better.
When my usual ophthalmologist's office didn't bother to call me back after leaving multiple frantic messages, I called Dr. Kaz and got in immediately. What I thought was a random choice from a Google search was actually divine intervention. Turns out I was frantic with good reason and was sent to a retina specialist for same day treatment. The retina specialist said most doctors wouldn't have even seen this tear, but because Dr. Kaz is so well-trained and fabulous, she found it. He also said I should say a prayer of thanks every day for her, which I am definitely doing. THANK YOU, Dr. Kaz. You are amazing and your entire staff is top-notch, especially Coral and Nicole. I can't thank all of you enough.
I used this eye Dr. in the past and was not happy after a few appointments, so I switched. However, I needed another routine eye exam so I made an appointment with them to give them a second chance. It only confirmed my previous opinions to be true. Not worth the hassle and long wait time for appointments. Find another doctor.
Dr Kaz is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. She takes time to listen to her patients which may be why sometimes she runs a little behind but the personal attention is awesome. HOWEVER, her billing practices are horrible. Keep all your paperwork to make sure they don't double bill you. The billing department is hard to reach but then quick to charge late fees and even turn you over to collections the moment they think a bill is outstanding. I am currently trying to resolve a matter for my elderly mother where we we have documentation that it was paid but now getting letters from a collection agency. My wife has had the same issue.
I accompanied my 89-year-old mother, who has been a patient of Dr. Kaz for over 10 years, to her appointment. Because I live out of state, my cousin usually helps her with medical visits, but this time I was able to take her.
We arrived at 10:00 a.m. for a 10:30 appointment, expecting to leave around 11:15. Only three patients were in the waiting area when we checked in. When I asked if the schedule was running on time, the receptionist replied yes. Silly me for thinking she would admit to an actual wait time of at least 90 minutes past the scheduled time before seeing the doctor.
During that time, four or five patients who arrived after us were called back before my mother. She struggles with mobility due to knee and leg issues, so the long wait was difficult. She was finally called at 10:45 for pre-exams (vision acuity, dilation, and eye pressure testing) and then placed in a secondary waiting room with several other patients around 11:00.
We remained there for nearly 60 more minutes. During that time I was able to continue my conversation with the former mayor of Yorktown in the mid to late 70's. She voiced similar frustration about the delays. She had arrived after us and was called back before us, and was finally called in to see Dr. Kaz around 12:05.
Dr. Kaz finally came into our exam room at 12:20. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment of the delay, no greeting for a first-time meeting, and no apology for the 2.5 hours wait.
While Dr. Kaz is undoubtedly experienced, the scheduling practices here clearly prioritize volume over patient respect. Unofficially, they're not scheduling overlapping appointments, but intentionally scheduling unrealistic exam times may increase revenue, but it comes at the cost of patients' time, convenience, and dignity. Many "professional" ophthalmologists manage to see patients within an hour without these types of delays.
If you are comfortable waiting 90+ minutes beyond your appointment time, sitting through three episodes of the waiting room TV programming, and receiving no communication or apology for the inconvenience, then this office may be acceptable for you. But for those who value their time, this experience was disappointing.
Anyone know why the office does not provide any form of patient feedback mechanism...a rhetorical question. Word of mouth remains the most powerful form of advertising, and this type of experience speaks volumes.
Brought my mom here for a very important appointment. First, they were over an hour behind in even bringing her back, and then 1.5 hours behind (total) (appt at 9, seen at 10:30). Then, they require masks yet employees don't wear them. I work in healthcare and understood the importance but 5 years later, and then to not follow it as employees? The fee for cards is 3.5% which is on a sign up front, but the % is covered by their business cards. If you have something urgent going on, or if you work and are coming on PTO, don't come here. She had an okay experience with the provider but overall a big hassle and didn't feel like a priority.
I had an appointment on February 12th 2026 I arrive at 9:50. My appointment was at 10:10am I was never seen by the doctor. I had to leave reschedule because I had to be to work at 1 o'clock. I was there for two hours very disappointed, I asked how much longer would it be they said 30 minutes I had two other people in front of me.I'm quite sure if I was running 10 minutes late,They would've canceled my appointment.
. No one never apologized.
Kaz Vision is an utterly deplorable provider that consistently disrespects patients and wastes their time. As a Tricare patient, I endured four cancelled appointments, each one scrapped at the last minute with flimsy excuses about "emergencies." Not once did they manage to honor a scheduled visit, leaving me frustrated and without care after months of trying. Their complete disregard for patients' time and needs is unacceptable, especially for a large provider entrusted with taxpayer dollars. Kaz Vision's inability to manage schedules or communicate effectively is a disgrace, and they are wholly unworthy of serving Tricare patients. Avoid at all costs--your time deserves better.
