Vistar Eye Center

I have been to Vistar since childhood for glasses and contacts and cannot recommend them enough! I see Toni for contacts and she is always helpful and offers samples for new lenses she thinks I will like. My last appt my ophthalmologist was out and another doctor fit me into his schedule so I wouldn't have to wait - so thoughtful. Great place with amazing staff!

I saw Dr. TIms last week for viral conjunctivitis. His schedule was full, but his schedulers were able to squeeze me in at the last minute for an office visit. Dr. Tims has performed multiple eye surgeries on both of my eyes, and, I trust him completely and have faith that, no matter what, he will take the best and brightest care of me. He is kind, thoughtful, and, above all, a gifted and skilled doctor and a wonderful human being. His staff is also wonderful - professional, considerate and reassuring. Eye issues are very scary, and in order for an anxious patient, like me, to feel comfortable, everyone in the office should possess compassion and empathy. These are qualities I encounter each time I am at Dr. Tims' office. If I had not found Dr. Tims, I would probably be blind by now. But, thank goodness, he is my eye doctor, and whatever happens to my eyes, I am profoundly grateful knowing that he will be there for me.

Dr Strelow always does a great job helping me keep my eyes in good shape. Everyone is always so helpful to me and Dad every time we are there. We both would highly recommend them to anyone needing caring through eye care.

My recent eye exam was extraordinary! My appointment was at 1:05, and I was checking out at 1:41. Pretty amazing to get top quality care so efficiently. Thanks to everyone in that process. It couldn't have been better.

Love Dr. Conner-Tsiang and her Optometry staff at Vistar Franklin, plus the artwork throughout is like an art exhibit! Dr. Conner-Tsiang is always prompt, professional, courteous, and friendly with a smile on her face. Many physicians of various other fields cannot claim such a complement. Dr. Albuquerque is great too at the Retinal Center on Peters Creek.

Several years ago, I had, what i believe, was a reaction to having my eyes dilated. Soon after the dilation, I ended up at Wake Forest University. I've had 2 eyes surgeries since then. Although Wake Forest does not think my issue came from the dilation, I am still nervous about having it done. After I refused to have my eyes dilated in 2024, the optometrist at Vistar claimed my optic nerve looked concerning. Note, I had just had to major eyes surgeries and the surgeons saw nothing of concern. The optometrist at Vistar did a special test. She did not say anything about additional costs. She said she was going to look into my eyes with a different piece of equipment. I assumed it was just part of the yearly exam. One year later, I get a bill for $55 for this test. There was no arguing it. They did not care that i was not told of any additional charges. When i go to any other doctor, i am told when something will be additional. On top of this, I will also say, I was not pleased with an unqualified person determining my prescription at Vistar. The doctor uses what the assistant determines and does not recheck what the assistant decides the prescription is. I asked and the assistant has no college education in the field of medicine or optometry. I guess I will look for an actual ophthalmologist for my yearly exams now.

The Vistar Eye Center is an excellent opthalmological practice. It is excellent for the thoroughness of its staff and technicians in carrying out the parts of a thorough eye exam, especially for an elderly woman who has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for almost fifty years. MS has offered me some interesting symptoms in its inimitable way, and I have always counted on good ophthalmologists as an essential part of my care team. But there is an additional reason to praise the Vistar Eye Center. Their offices are adorned with some marvelous local art, both painting and sculpture. The presence of art reminds us of why we need our eyes to complete our experience of the world of human imagination. You'll have an excellent experience at Vistar eye center, and you'll remember why the Good Lord made your eyes.
