Have used VISTAR for years both for eye exams and also my glasses. Visited the eye center on September 10 to order glasses. Alexis waited on me, and was a pleasure to deal with! Very competent and personable. She is a credit to your business.
This place is very professional, thorough, and they take care of you. No rushing you out. They explain everything in layman's terms. I would like to personally thank everyone that made this experience a great one. Thank you to, Trisha, Kaila, Dr. Piery, Ms. Clemons, Desiree, Dana, Emily Audrey, Ashley, and Abbey for making me feel like family. I appreciate you all. Please dont go anywhere else to get your eyes checked. They're the best.
These people are so nice and kind and completely knowledgeable of every aspect of vision care I can't say enough nice things about these people
I was referred by my eye doctor in Galax, for cataract surgery evaluation. After reading a lot of negative reviews on Google and even 6 BBB complaints, I decided to cancel the appointment and seek care elsewhere. Over a month early I cancelled the appointment, two weeks later called to confirm the cancelation, verbally (not automated). 2 days ago I started receiving text messages reminding me of the appointment and today, I received an automated call advising me that i.missed the appointment with Dr. Albright in Galax.
I called the appointment desk, which I feel is probably a third party not the actual Vistar office . At first she stated that i missed the appointment and when I asked her to verify that I had cancelled the appointment, she could see that it had been cancelled....so why did I receive reminder texts? "OH, it's automated". Not an excuse, in my book! I asked, since they interpreted this as a missed appointment, if I would be billed. At first she said it would be billed to my insurance company, then, she said I would not receive a bill. I am informing my insurance (Medicare) that I cancelled this appointment and that they are not to pay for the 'missed appointment. If this is their mode of operation, then they will soon be investigated by Medicare, as this, in my opinion, is fraud. There should be no billing for an appointment that was cancelled weeks ahead.of time AND was verbally confirmed to have been cancelled. Maybe the doctors are very capable, but this sort of business practice is unethical and illegal.
UPDATE ..I did receive a call from the manager of the appointment call center apologizing for the apparent 'glitch in their automated system.
This location has the worst Optical department. There is no way to contact them. I have phoned for 2 days several times) and left voicemail for 2 days with no result.
This is an edit to the review. I finally was able to get someone to answer the phone on the afternoon of the second day. The final pair of lenses had come on the previous day. I went in to pick up the lenses and both attendants were in the office. The one came out and retrieved my glasses to put on the lenses. When she came back out, she said they would have to remake the glasses because they didn't fit the frame. She wanted to send the frames back with the lenses but since I'm 20/200 in one eye and 20/50 (corrected vision) in the other this was not an option. I mentioned I purchased the frames there and they should be able to achieve the frame. She said they did, but the lens didn't fit. She said she traced the frame. If that was what they needed, then they should have done it the first time. Anyway, she said they would call me. I explained at this time they had never called me yet. It was then explained to me they were too busy that morning to call and that she wasn't the one there yesterday. If they are so busy they cant answer the phone, call about glasses coming in, or respond to a voicemail then they certainly will not miss my business.
WILL NEVER COME BACK. Went today and through i was going to have a peaceful eye exam however while in the dilation room a nurse decided to go all pro trump complimenting some guys hates and goes on a full holly ceremony about this ridiculous man. Politics should stay out of heathcare and that women made me so uncomfortable. I will never have a nurse work on me if she supports that man. That being said I will never return to this company because of this women and her political views
First time visiting this office today and I had a great experience. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment and they got me in the next day. My appt was at 9:15 and I was out by 9:45. I saw Dr. Hosman for the first time and he was very kind, understanding, and easy to talk to. I would recommend this office and Dr. Hosman!
Great people and really great at what they do! They got me in and out in a timely manner! Thanks, Vistar Eye Center! I appreciate you respecting my time enough to take care of my eye needs, without wasting a lot of time!
