Vistar Eye Center

My husband was a patient here for several years until we moved. We have returned after 4 years and we immediately reconnected with Vistar. He needs to be evaluated every 6 months and the staff were able to get him scheduled in a timely manner. Now our entire family has gotten scheduled also. We feel very strongly that this is one of the best doctor offices around. The front desk is always polite and professional. The technicians are polite, friendly and respectful. Dr. Scothorn is exceptional and truly committed to care. I say this because the office treats patients who are referred by free clinics and organizations. We personally were without insurance at one point and my husband was still seen and treated with the utmost care and dignity. I would recommend this facility to anyone and everyone. Thank you for the excellent care.

I have been seeing Dr. Maxim Scothorn for 2 years now. He is meticulous in his exams and extraordinarily compassionate. He likes to educate his patients concerning their conditions and takes the time to answer questions (I always want to discern my eye conditions he treats), and he does not make me feel rushed. One thing I noticed right away, the first time I saw Dr. Scothorn, was that the staff he surrounds himself with are both kind and competent. When I see a physician who takes the time to educate his staff while working, I also know he takes an interest in being a teacher to them. This is just another sign of his humanity in an age where physicians are overworked and don't always make every patient feel like they matter. Dr. Maxim Scothorn is someone I trust with my vision, which I value as a blessing. Everyone you meet at the office will be a joy while maintaining their professionalism. I highly recommend him. We usually see Dr. Scothorn in his Botetourt office, but we recently saw him and met his Fellow, Dr. Madison Chisom, in their downtown Roanoke office, and what a delight she was as well.

It is always a pleasure to interact with the front-desk staff, and it is impossible to add up enough kudos for Dr. Scothorn--his "bedside manner," professionalism and insight deserve the highest marks. All the staff conduct themselves flawlessly and make me feel welcome and appreciated.

They are wonderful to work with. I somehow typed the wrong time for my appointment into my calendar and they were able to see me anyway. They were super nice and have given me excellent care.

The entire practice, including Dr. Scothorn and the team in Botetourt, and Dr. Will Griffeth and Dr. Conner-Tsang in Salem, are knowledgeable, professional and patent focused. Highly recommended.

Everyone from the front office personnel to the specialist who took the test for the young ladies in the office, including the doctor and the staff at the prescription., it's just as nice as can be and willing to work with you.Anyway they came.
