Virginia Center For Eye Surgery

The entire staff was very friendly and very polite. When I was taken back for my pre op my nurse Karen was extremely kind and attentive to my preparation. She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Alvarez and his staff took very good care of me during the eye operation. My post op nurse, Cheyenne, kept my wife informed during the operation and was very helpful in my post op time. Everyone was / is very polite and professional. I thank each and everyone who took care of me during my time there..

From the moment I walked in the door my experience was wonderful. I was impressed with the efficiency of the staff and, especially, with the kindness of the nurses. Every step of the procedure was fully explained to me and that definitely helped to relieve my anxiety I had. My nurse was very patient in finding a vein for my IV and inserted the needle expertly and painlessly. The warmed blanket was a very nice surprise. Of course my wonderful ophthalmologist, Dr. Avi Meier, would associate himself with a surgery center that, like him, offers excellent care. Highly recommend.

My father had cataract removal surgery of both eyes. From the front desk staff to the nursing staff, everyone was so kind and customer service focused. Karen RN has the best bedside manner I have ever had the opportunity to meet. Becca and Shyann were so attentive and supportive. The time they spent making sure the patients are comfortable and calm is a welcoming feeling. Thank you all so very much for the warming blankets as well!!!! As a retired nurse, believe me when I say this group is top notch!

The nurse that initially took care of me did an excellent job of calming me down. She explained everything that she was doing and reassured me that it would be a breeze. She was right. The Cataract surgery was nothing like what I was expecting. She did her job excellently. Thank you for being there for me!! The surgery went smoothly and Dr. D proved to me that he was experienced and professional. Thank you!

I had cataract surgery yesterday and the staff (from start to finish) was great . My checkin was quick and efficient and I was taken back within about 5 minutes. Rebecca was wonderful , very friendly , professional and attentive . I explained to her that I have had bad experiences with IV's in the past and she was able to do it quickly and without pain ..... thank you Rebecca ! Karen , one of the OR nurses was also very friendly and professional....thank you Karen ! Matt took care of me briefly after the procedure and also did a great job....thank you Matt ! The young lady that wheeled me out to my car (sorry....don't remember her name) took good care of me also.....thank you ! The only negative comment I have is that twice I requested "please , enough sedation that I don't know what's going on". I had my 1st cataract surgery at this facility 2 1/2 years ago and made the same request ..... and my request was met. This time when I mentioned it to the anesthesiologist he said "well, we can't make you too sleepy" and he didn't ! The procedure was totally painless but I was aware of everything going on , could "see" things coming at my eye but I did my best to stay calm and relaxed. I didn't want to speak , because I didn't want to chance moving . I just wish I had been more sedated so I could have felt more relaxed during the actual procedure. Despite this , it was an overall good experience.

I brought my mom in for cataract surgery, and I was so impressed with every member of the staff that we encountered from the time we checked in until my mother' surgery was done. The receptionist, the patient rep, the pre-op nurses, the surgeon, the post-op nurse- everyone met every expectation that you could ask for. The words that repeatedly came to mind were professional, courteous and competent. At every step of the process, staff took the time to explain the part of the process. I would recommend this center without hesitation.

I had my second cataract surgery today at the Virginia Center for Eye Surgery with Dr. Avi Meier. Once again the staff was phenomenal. The nurses are extremely friendly and accommodating. Dr. Meier did a fantastic job and I am so grateful for his exceptional skill and gentleness. I highly recommend him as a brilliant ophthalmologist.

Wonderful staff in every direction. So thankful for all who made my experience so comfortable. Dr. Levine did a superb job with my cataract surgery. Highly recommended!!
