I went with my husband to his eye exam, we had Vivian help use check out glasses and prices. She was so friendly and informative. It felt like we've know each other before today. Usually I feel awkward in these situations but she made me feel completely comfortable the whole time. No awkwardness at all. My husband and I enjoyed the help and conversations with Vivian!
If you need contacts quickly, this is not the place for you! I had an appointment last week and was told that it would take a week for the trial contacts to come in. When I was notified that the trial contacts came in I was told that it would be another week before I would be able to get them. I went online and found an open appointment the very next day that was available. I was then contacted and told that I would not be seen for the appointment I scheduled because it wasn't the right kind of appointment. Now I have to wait another week. So that's TWO weeks of waiting just to get trial contacts.... Pathetic, after I get these contacts I will not be using America's longest wait times ever again.
I had an amazing experience getting my first eye exam & new glasses, thanks to the helpful ladies Vivian and Delaney. I was nervous but they made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions! Highly recommend!
The ladies that assisted me through my appointment were very nice, but I didn't really care for the Doc. My visit was maybe 5 minutes with him. If that. It was entirely rushed. I didn't get to express any concerns I may have had, nor did he ask if I had any. You would've thought he was timing himself to see how quickly he could get done.
Firstly, I would like to say that I really appreciate all of the staff that are in the main area. Everyone was helpful and nice, my review is mainly about the Eye Exam summary portion and results thereof.
Making an appointment was easy, everyone is nice over the phone and helpful in store. The first part of my exam went well, your usual eye air puffs, imaging, and the like. However, when I went to the final room to go try on lenses and go over imagery, it felt like Dr.Gandhi could not have wanted to kick me out faster.
He zoomed through my lens trials, and even when I hesitated with reading certain letters he didn't try to improve the look, he just rushed to the next step. Then, he said everything will be at the front. He didn't show me my eye imagery, he didn't talk to me even just as a person - I asked, "we aren't going to talk about my astigmatisms"? And he said, "yes you have astigmatisms". I was dumbfounded.
This was my first visit here and they didn't check the prescription on the current glasses, then they didn't even take their time during my exam. It was extremely disheartening and nothing like any eye exam I had had before.
Regardless, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought, "you know, maybe he is so skilled, the lenses will be perfect once they arrive". They were not.
Unfortunately when placing my order, they had told me that I was receiving an Anti-Reflective coating because 1. I always do since I wear glasses 24/7 and 2. Because it was literally recommended by the doctor and it says so on my prescription paper - but my glasses came without the coating. I tried to adjust to them but the RX clearly wasn't strong enough, either. Based on America's Best RX, my left eye has improved, but in actuality it had not.
I trusted my gut and I went for a second opinion at another location - sans insurance. At this location they did exactly what one would expect from a well rounded exam: Puffs of air, eye imagery, discussing your concerns, and then finally going over every item and actually discussing your prescription and eyes. Going through lenses and not being rushed into finding what works for you.
Wouldn't you know it? I was merely a slight adjustment from my previous lenses, and my left eye has not improved. Thus, not only was the exam of poor quality but I cannot say that the RX was accurate, either.
With all of that said, the office was helpful in getting a refund for my frames and lenses. I would order through the office again, but I cannot recommend the eye exam at this location.
My son has worn contacts for two years. At his recent exam, the doctor wrote his prescription using an America's Best exclusive brand. We didn't realize this at first, but it explained why he was asked to come back for a second fitting, even though he had been using the same brand for years.
We get his contacts at Costco to save money, but because the doctor wrote one eye with a standard brand and the other with an exclusive America's Best brand, we can't fill the prescription anywhere else.
I do not recommend the America's Best in Winchester.
Great customer service. I took the last appointment of the day, on the same day I made it. Everyone is kind, and very helpful. I was really nervous cause I hadn't had an eye exam in a little over five years but they were very quick with the exam and taking me to be seen. So my nerves didnt last long
This negative rating is for the Dr Gandhi only the other staff is fantastic. No explanation no introduction no questions or discussion before during or after he wouldn't even switch back and forth to different versions to be sure of selection. As a result of this terrible fast food experience by Dr Gandhi I went to pick up my order and it's awful and wrong the measurements of my eyeball were done incorrectly and despite giving the new glasses a fair try it's not going to work out...that doctor is not good.
